PAX East 2014: The Giant Bomb Panel

Since I watched the panel live, I am debating if I want to watch the whole thing again, or just the Drew interview. Decisions, decisions.

i hope people realize the one q&a guy talking about how GB helped him was being sincere and wasn't actively trying to bring the mood down. props to him for having the courage to say it; this site really means a lot to people and has clearly helped quite a few fans through difficult times. not cringeworthy at all.

This was a great show. The surprises are numerous and hard to pick a favorite. As always it was painful to watch the Q&A at times, but the responses were perfect. To be fair the audience has been many times worse in the past, but for every half-decent question or actually funny gag there are 10 wince-worthy mumbles and awkward topics. Nothing against the askers, I'm sure I'd be nervous as hell. But that's the thing, I know I don't have anything worthwhile to ask them, especially in front of the audience with all that pressure. They've got balls that's for sure..

I'm so happy I brought Alex that beer during Giant Bomb New York. I definitely laughed.

And just in general, on streams and Quick Looks. Dude's just been killing it lately. Seems ever since he called GTA V "fucking boring" on the Game of the Year podcasts, he's broken free to just say whatever and have a good time. I maintain that he enjoys games more than anyone on the site right now and it really comes through.

I felt brad that bad got beat up a little though between the least picked pin and all the fat jokes on him, but he seems to handle it like a champ so good on him!

That was one of the first things that I noticed while watching this, that he's way more comfortable talking in front of a loud crowd. I remember every year he always had to either drink.. well, maybe this year he's just drinking more, but drink enough to get in the zone and even then he would be a bit shy. I felt a bit brad though that bad got kind of picked on between the least picked pin and the fat jokes, but he seemed to have handled it all like a champ so good on him.

And of course, fine work from @drewbert as always, especially getting that action shot towards the end there. Giving us some behind the scenes of Jeff lying down behind the panel that entire time and a close up on Green on Navarro threats that I missed from the twitch stream.

Is...is there really subliminal messaging for SMITE? I can't quite remember them mentioning it but for some reason it was on my mind through this whole thing @ _@

I stayed up all night to watch the live stream and I'm glad I did...I expected nothing but MADNESS...and Giant Bomb delivered. Well done, duders.

I couldn't be more thrilled with the reaction to the body pillow. I trusted the crew would do the rest and they absolutely nailed it.

It also says a lot that a one-of-a-kind John Drake body pillow presented to Vinny was just another segment in this crazy thing. This was genuinely a stacked panel and I couldn't be happier.

I touched the donkey, guys. I also touched everybody that touched the donkey.

So fun! I so wished they were going to do PAXChicago

Okay, that was another simply amazing panel. A lot of surprises, too. (People like Vinny, surprise!)
