Am I a terrible person for liking MW more than CS? The weapons in MW feels so much more realistic and you actually need to ADS. I mean, I like CS and all. I used to play the HELL out of CSS. I think it's an apples and oranges case.

Is Chet on a ton of cold meds, or plastered at the convention?

Day 1 i bet on some servers console players wont be able to get on.

Finally, I don't know who this is going to bring in from MW3/BF3 crowd. They are going to complain about the difficulty, learning curve, and no ADS or attachments or killstreaks. Which IMO is a godsend, I don't want those people getting up in my CS.

for heavens sake ... I am as PC focused as it gets, but people like you make me feel ashamed of our platform. If the matchmaking works you won't even see any console players ... if not and you are as good as you seem to think you are you will get some easy kills.

I don´t know about this whole cross platform play.. the idea is sound, but controller against different input method is just bad. 
 
What I really like about consoles is the relatively even playing field when it comes to input devices. I´m against mixing different input methods, because obviously the guy on the pc will have a huge advantage, even to the point where he can do stuff that the guy on controller cant pull off.

A casual mode where everyone has all the money they ever need so that every single player gets an AWP...

If the PC player with his keyboard and mouse is such a beast, he'll apparently be matched against other players of the same skill, be they PC or otherwise.

If it turns out that PC players are all at a distinct advantage, they'll just eventually end up being matched against only PC players with the supposedly "lowly" console players stuck in a ghetto playing against themselves... but somehow I don't think that'll be the case.

There are more than a fair few players that have a high degree of skill with a controller.. as well as a number of PC players that are less than stellar with a keyboard and mouse. It all balances out.

At least all platforms who play with each other will be able to use the same control schemes. It would be unfair for 360 players to get matched with PS3 and PC players if MS won't let them use M+K, but it seems they can only play with other 360 users.

I sure hope the final thing is 60fps on consoles, because it didn't seem like it compared to videos of COD or Rage. That would make cross platform play even less balanced, otherwise.

On a serious note some of these comments are just silly.

This is just disheartening to watch. Don't they have an actual designer working on the game who can demo it? "Oh we're making a new CS just 'cause.". He doesn't bring up a single issue or concern that someone who actually still plays might have, he clearly has no clue. Valve should do what Blizzard did with SC2, sit down and analyse what the core elements of the first game was and try to carry that over. Watch Dustin Browder's GDC talk about how they designed SC2 to be an esport. None of those design principles are present here.
 
This game is going to be for no one. If you don't already care about CS why would you play this over MW3 / BF3, and if you do care about CS there's nothing here for you either.

So, this is basically Valve creating CS for PS3 to have cross platform gaming with the PC. I wonder if next they might not be working on a PS3 version of the L4D games for the same thing, or maybe TF2 on PS3 fully integrated with the PC version and with mouse and keyboard support.

I'm not saying MW is the most realistic game ever. (I play ARMA II for fuck's sake) but comparatively it is more realistic than CS.

Oh god, I really want to play CS now. I thought I kicked that habit.

Played it at pax, and it was complete garbage.

Even if i didn't play it i could tell it was garbage from the early info, it's a dumbed down CS for people who suck at actual CS.

Yeah, it's so good it puts me against diamond players even though i am bottom platinum.

some amazing matchmaking, no one can perfect matchmaking, it will never be done and will put you against people either really shitty or really amazing not to mention dummy accounts, people in diamond who have multiple accounts and play in bronze/silver and completely floor people.

every matchmaking system is broke, just because YOUR w/l is 51% doesn't mean it isn't broke.

StarCraft 2's matchmaking isn't broken, you just don't understand how it works. Your league and your opponent's league have nothing to do with your chance of getting matched together -- it's all based on performance metrics you can't see. My w/l has consistently been around 50% since the game came out.

 as someone who played comp for a while, ANYONE using a controller will get deystroyed by players on pc who know just a little about what they are doing
