They hired Vinny as the video guy and Brad as a writer/reviewer, so why can't they just do that? They have to realize that you and I prefer things to always stay the same.

Just be glad that everyone is still around. A lot of layoffs and job switching around the game journalism industry pretty damn frequently these days =/

Just to clarify, you are right that nothing is perfect and that there is always room for improvement. However, I just think that they made a step in the wrong direction by making Patrick such a prominent persona on the site. Note that the word "think" does not imply that I think/know I am right.

Now if you want to put your big girl panties on and have a discussion about how our views are different, then by all means keep this going. If you are going to preach your opinion as gospel and expect people to take you seriously, then good luck and happy travels, I'm out of this one.

Fully agree with you. Patrick didn't fit in when he turned up to ruin 1up Yours every so often and I don't think he fits in well with GB.

Oh god I wanna punch that Greg Kasavin duder in the face. The reason you'd go to a panel is because you're a fan but how can that guy just be so clueless? Ugh.

Anyway, pretty decent panel. Some truely cringe worthy moments and audio issues were pretty annoying as I just got noise through my speakers so had to opt for headphones. I'm actually surprised about the news of the Endurance Run. I hope they're doing this because they actually want to and not because the boss upstairs says it's a popular feature. The DP ER was pretty awful and didn't really have the same spark that P4 had and it felt very forced. P4 was entertaining and made for an ER due to its length and would the guys be able to play the game for that long especially when ep 50 got messed up. DP was more of an ER because of how bad it was but it was also fairly short. I actually own DP and there are things to like about it but for me it just didn't make a great ER.

Editors don't just "amp up the news" or whatever sections they're primarily responsible for, they bring a specific editorial voice to the site. This formula has worked well for the guys and I really don't understand why they should restrict themselves to just four dudes. By your logic I would expect you to have been upset when Brad and Vinny joined the team after months of just Jeff and Ryan. Were you upset back then? If not, why are you now?

I also disagree with your statement that they're "changing their original formula". They're expanding it in the most logical way possible: by adding another personality to the team.

Lastly, I really don't understand why some people (like you) take such offense to Patrick being there. He meshes well with the rest of the guys, he knows his stuff, he has an opinion on stuff that's relevant to the site, so what's the fucking deal?

@ThePilgrums: I'm not hostile, the guy does great things with news, I just hate to see the tried-and-true Giant Bomb formula messed with just "because they like him." There really isn't a need for us to hear from him at all, but if they need to cover a spot while someone is out, then I completely understand bringing him in for a bit. Besides, regardless of our differing ideas about how great the site is with his addition, I don't think its a stretch to say that the dude seems to dominate a little too much air time on occasion. I see more of him than I do of Vinny and maybe even Brad, which is a travesty.
