In my limited understanding, which could totally be off the mark, some of the first Western medicine that came to Japan was brought by Germans. Being introduced to things like Germ Theory and proper methods for sterilization tend to have a big effect on a culture.

About the video: the Yukari part is one I thought a bit differently. 'Flashy' could fit there I suppose but I didn't give too much thought to be honest. I'd probably be a little more literal there. Flashy Pink Sniper or something along those lines. "Gaudy" didn't even cross my mind, too weird to put in there.

Then you adapted the 'kodomo majinaki' part. Good enough I guess. Couldn't figure what what would be a better solution.

I don't quite understand your adaptation of '逆襲の全力空転スラッガー' though. I didn't mind adapting but why 'slam dunk' considering it's about baseball?
