That's because they always just use Atlus USA's localization. There would only be voice acting because Atlus USA put it there. Not to mention there's been no official confirmation of it being localized outside the US, so as of right now it is the north american version only.

Except converting to PAL is very simple and doesn't require an awful lot of testing at all. Especially when you consider that doesn't apply to the PSP, doofus. The rest of the localisation really doesn't matter at all, very little of it actually applies to a handheld game, and even then a lot of it can be glossed over acceptably for a console game. It really doesn't require anything like the amount of money to go from JP to NA, to go from NA to EU. Fuck EU, hows about just the UK, we represent a huge portion of the EU market and require even less localisation (still read: none whatsoever, especially for handhelds)Said it a million times, theres simply no excuse, Atlus is a big enough company to undertake these sorts of things easily enough, and there is more than enough money to be made from the UK alone to make it worthwhile. "
Go here and quit pretending you know exactlly what the return on investment would be for Atlus to release every game in Europe as well as North America.   You have no fucking idea what their specific financial situation and projections are.

Why does the guy talking have a garbage mic? I do enjoy his enthusiasm for the game, though I am not getting a PSP for this game.

I wasn't aware that "more encounters, less experience" was a way to make a game harder, even by SMT standards.

This guy's narration is just as weird and hilarious as the localizations for these games are.  I love it.

Nor does he have any idea how difficult setting up a distribution network in Europe is.  Listen, "The_A_Drain", I actually work in the logistics industry and the company I work for just expanded into Europe.  It's drawn a TON of business because logistics providers in Europe are scarce.  But it's also caused a metric ton of headaches because of how difficult setting up a logistics plan for companies is in that area.  You have all kinds of VATs to worry about, developing shipping lanes between countries which while streamlined in the European Union, still is a complicated nightmare to impliment correctly.  The 6th directive helps, but it still leads you with having a ton of things to take care of, and I'd rather that they leave European distribution to a big boy like Square Enix who needs to have it in place since they deal in games which sell 10x what the highest selling SMT game does.

North American Logistics is fairly easy in comparison.  It makes sense for them to do their own distribution and have deals with Gust, Nippon Ichi (before they broke off), and other Japanese developers to strengthen their volume and in turn get better rates on distribution.  That's why there's an Atlus USA is and not an Atlus Europe.

It's a formula which can be successful, and some other distributors have followed suit (such as XSEED).

Persona's fights go by much more quickly... Unless you're Vinny. "I dunno, it looks like it's weak to ice? I'm gonna try Bufu.""NO VINNY DON-" *Bufu*

This looks like something I should save up and get with a PSP GO!, therefore I will.

This game looks great.  Persona games are very tempting to get into even though I don't usually like RPGs.

Nice. They've revamped the auto/rush mechanic, which allows you to speed-through battles not just with melee attacks, but with preset magic too. Hope they apply that to Persona 5.

I'm lovin the music. I'm definitely getting this game.

It was kind of annoying that the guy in the video assumes that everyone supposedly loves a hard RPG.  I don't, man. I'm just in it for the story. :(

Yeah I totally remember Persona 1 and this totally looks like a redone Persona 1.  Shouldn't the kid with the hat be a black kid?  Atlus you frekin' racists.  Just playin'.  Back in the day I remember the battle system being so versatile compared to other RPGs out at the time.  In battle every character can use persona spells, negotiations, items, melee weapons, and GUNS freakin' guns!  Sorry but Naoto dont got shit on this game.

I guess this means you have no plans to ever play Persona again then? Because there's very little chance those characters will ever appear in Persona again.

It does, I've played the Japanese version a bit and it was there. I actually played it a bit and it really seemed quite easy. 90% of the time it seemed like I had full SP.

Vinny and Jeff should do an endurance run of this or Devil Survivor once they wrap up Persona 4 soon enough. I just bought Devil Survivor today and I'm super stoked to get down to it. :D

Yeah, that bit's got me concerned.  I played the original Persona, and my biggest fear is that those toilet demons are still going to be in the remake.  Anyone who knows what I'm talking about know what a pain in the ass those guys are.  I like challenging RPGs, but not if it means a higher encounter rate, and definitely not if it means more of those toilet guys...ugh.

Wow, Atlus and Atlus America are pretty awesome for actually upgrading the first game instead of just re-releasing it.

Except Atlus does not have a European subsidiary or branch.  Persona 3 was released by Koei in PAL territories, and Square Enix released Persona 4.  If there were a European Atlus office, they could release their games themselves, but that's currently not the case.

You know things are bad in the gaming industry when everyone is simply looking at rehashing, retooling, for a different platform.  And probably charging you $50 for it.

I'd gladly pay the $40 for the remastered and complete version of the game and a 2CD soundtrack, especially if that means that there might be a chance that we'll see Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment get the same treatment.

Before complaining, take a look at eBay at how much copies of the butchered version of Persona: Revelations fetches.  Last auction ended at $81.00.  Last BIN got $85.00.

I love the battle music theme for this one. I hate how the dungeon crawling is done in first person though. The rest of the features for battles though sold this game to me.

Bigger box? Pretty much ensures that Gamestop will only have 2 copies at best....
