I might play this and PvZ 2 if/when they come to PS3/PS4.

Wasn't this listed as Spring on Origin for the longest time? I'm somewhat curious about it, but if it's getting microtransactions AND coming out for $30, I think I can safely ignore it.

@alcor741: Yeah, that seems about right. The game always looked like it was built to support them, Mass Effect 3 style, they just weren't turned on. Now they are, I guess.

They are completely unnecessary to enjoying this game. At the moment, you can buy the most useful card pack for 20,000 coins. You can easily get 20,000 coins from playing just two "Gardens and Graveyards" (BF-style rush mode) games, whether you win or lose. This wasn't always the case, but ever since the last update, PopCap has done a fantastic job balancing the coin distribution to both teams, and it feels quite fair. So yeah, microtransactions will be great for those who don't actually want to, umm... play the game, but for the rest of us you can easily ignore them with no detriment to yourself.

We had much more fun on this than Titanfall.

I'd rather have PvZ 2 instead of another mediocre TPS on PC. I can already play dozens of better ones completely free.

Seems like a cool game, but I bet the online community for it on PC will die off within a month of release.

Totally worth the 50 dollars. If Titanfall was 50 dollars or less I may have given that a go. There's more fun and more game in PvZ:GW than Titanfall. It's a shame to say that after all the hype I had for Titanfall but it's the truth. I completely skipped Titanfall and have put almost 200 hours into PvZ:GW, nearly unlocked everything (without micro-transactions)

Guys don't be turned off by being able to buy coins, it doesn't mean anything bad it's actually balanced really well where you'll get the most useful coin pack every 2 matches.

Also the game is really fun and unless you play anything other than classic mode for each game the coin packs only give cosmetic items and one time use items for the single play mode (which on their own only cost 1k coins and give you a ton of plants and zombies)
