I disagree.  The Ranger games are easily the best spin-offs the Pokemon series has seen, and in many ways surpass the main RPG series.
 
Areas and routes are bigger with more to explore, and are populated by actual Pokemon roaming around.  Seeing a bunch of Squirtles and Poilwags, etc, in a pond with Ratatta's scurring around in the bushes is exactly how I always imaged the Pokemon universe, and these games easily come closest to capturing that feeling.
 
The story and writting is also far superior, with many genuinely great characters and funny moments.
I'd still love to see Snap come back on the Wii with a more free roaming experience, but no reason to stop the Ranger series.

At least it offers enough diversity so you just don't stick with one pokeman the whole time but giving a wooden guitar to an electric pokeman seems rather silly unless you want grilled guitar.   
 
Pokeman pinchers - they could have spent more than 10 cents then they did on figuring up that title.
