Proteus' Live-Action Trailer Celebrates PS3, Vita Release

Oh man, I can only imagine taking a Vita out to somewhere isolated and beautiful just to play Proteus. Awesome that it's on the two platforms now!

Do you move the character by actually walking, and turning the Vita to turn? ...I didn't get it :S

Man, the first 90 seconds is like Irony: The Trailer.

Out of all the ported indie titles coming to vita/ps3/ps4, proteus has to be the dumbest one. Seriously, go buy it on PC. It takes nothing to run it, and you'll see everything in 50 minutes. It doesnt gain anything from being on a handheld either.

I liked proteus, but it should not have been ported.

Edit: Probably should have phrased it a bit better. I think it's a totally unnecessary port of a cool little game. I guess it's nice that sony would even put in an effort to get something like this ported, so good on em?

i get what you have to say man but i respectfully disagree, i'm not big on pc gaming so this porting biz ness seems just fine, and being portable gives me many chances to play these exciting and intresting games.

i do agree that if you have a pc only as your soul gaming machine proteus looks like allot of peacefulness =)

@naru_joe93: I agree on some level, but I like to think that if more people can experience a game like Proteus because it is available on their preferred platform, that in itself is a big win.

I dunno, I love Porteus but for it to work properly for me I need to be in front of a TV sized monitor in a dark room with headphones on and completely isolate myself, then it becomes one of the most beautiful art installations I've ever seen, the moment I ran it on a laptop without these conditions I found it really dull. So I don't think running Proteus on the screen the size of a PS Vita appeals to me, though I suppose you could plug in some buds and play it in bed, that'll work I guess.

Why do you care? Did the Vita kill your dog? Or your family? Or your family who where dogs? Do you get a cut of proffits for every game that isnt on the Vita? Do you think that it ruins the artistic value of the product because it is on a diffrent platform?

If not then why would more games on more systems be a bad thing?

The day Battlefield 4 and Assassin's creed come out, Patrick decide to put up a boring trailer for a Sony game. Oh well

Also I skimmed through the trailer and I don't know if it mentioned it, but the Playstation Blog mentions that the PS3 and Vita ports have some neat differences. "On the Vita version, Proteus can generate an island based on your geographical location, and on the PS3 version, you can generate islands based on the current date."

Not saying that gives a reason to go around playing Proteus wherever you go but it sounds like a neat little addition.

Those games are already shoved down our throats hard enough.

I liked proteus but when i played it I did wish there was something to do in it besides walk. I don't think a little collecting or something like that would ruin the game and if there were things to find and collect the island exploration would be that much more satisfying.

Maybe Proteus 2: Nuclear Zombie Bloodstorm will have more things to do.

This game helps me sleep.

I want to buy this for the Vita and play it on my bed until I fall asleep.

Age, money or even living situation might make owning one a little less possible for some. Or are we saying people who dont own a pc shouldnt play this or are not allowed. oh and it's somehow pointless of the developers to attempt to reach out to those who might have missed it before and at worst make a small sale or two. I'm sorry, I get what your saying really, but just because YOU or I can play it easily on our pcs that does mean that it's a silly idea to sell it somewhere else.

Proteus was one of the best things I've played this year, and if more people get to experience it through Sony platforms then great.

dude... COME ON??? This thing is on Mac, Linux, and PC. That covers BILLIONS of people. How many people do you think are going to buy this game on ps3 or vita because they have, literally, no other way of playing it?

And it's a bit presumptuous of you to think everyone has the internet to download this game, don't yah think?? Some people play their consoles offline yah know...

Yeah, I didn't know Proteus was coming to Vita, and I doubt there's anybody, even among people who aren't interested in games at all, who isn't aware that BF4 and AC4 is getting released. Bus stops, newspapers, subway trains and the TV is full of ads for them.
