Prototype 2's Colossal Mayhem DLC Appears to Live Up to its Title

This game is just pure mindless fun. These add-ons are a laugh that you shouldn't really have to pay for, but MS apparently does not allow free DLC for games (vi wikipedia here and here) and they should have been available on day 1 if it was not on the disc.

@Yummylee: Not priced if you bought one of the first copies, radnet limted edition it is called. Then you get all the content free.

The only thing that actually interested me was the thermobaric launcher and that alone is not worth $5 to me, The other stuff is just meh and kinda pointless.

So they're selling an edited .ini file for how much?

@Yummylee: It takes me hours and multiple brain-storming sessions to come up with these things. I make sure it's personalized.

That weapon at the end is a bad frame rate waiting to happen.

@inkyspots: It also disables Achievments/Trophies and challenge missions as long as you have them turned on.

When we made the game there where some bugs with gravity, we ironed them out but now you can buy them back. this is kinda what that looks like.

This should of been released at half the price they are charging for it. The stuff looks cool, but it adds nothing to the game of surface stuff.

I wonder who determine the price for these DLC's

@BisonHero: Yeah, it begs the question of why they spent time on this DLC rather than perfecting the actual game itself as it's not reviewing very well? It's almost like DLC should be worked on after the games a success, not before.

There's probably a graph somewhere that shows that unless your game is Call of Duty, the majority of people who buy DLC for your single-player game do it within the first month the game is out or not at all. Publishers assume that gamers will blindly not sell their game back to Gamestop if there's DLC that comes out during about an 8-week window after the game comes out.

What they keep forgetting is that most people don't really give a shit about 3 "powers" that are just variations on the game's gravity settings, and some stupid reskins.

Why they promote DLC so close to a games release is beyond me?.. At least let the thing reach an audience before you begin the over-saturation!

Once again I can only think about how much my 15yo self would love this game. Then again, my 15yo self was buying Limp Bizkit CDs, so what did I know?

I love Prototype 2. I beat it twice so far. Glad to hear there's a DLC. <3

Hey guys, I heard this game is kind of dumb.

Damn, dude. They really did not do much to improve upon the first game. Prototype was pretty fun with the potential for a great sequel, but this is reminding me of Crackdown 2.

So now Heller can manipulate Gravity and Time, even though there was no mention of the infection causing those types of effects in the game before..

Oh well. At least the Infected Heller skin looks pretty cool, and the Boomstick looks like a nice nuke gun. Even though those assets are already on the disk to begin with.

Given how extremely similar the gameplay and powers were to Prototype 1, a lot of those powers should have been implemented into the default game to begin with.

$5 for three new abilities and three shitty skins? Taking this game back to GameStop. Don't get me wrong, it was fun and I loved Prototype 1 & 2, but this is some fantastically shitty DLC.

Still waiting on a PC version.

That really didn't make the game look any better, and it seems like some of those powers are just slightly reworked versions of what's already in the game.

Oh how I miss the draw to beat the game different ways and in certain order just to unlock stuff. (Resident Evil 1 and 2 anyone?)

Haven't played yet, but this will surely make the game more fun! Call me a monster if you must but my favorite thing to do in Prototype was slaughter innocents... FOR HOURS!
