Hah, try this for a fanfare. Every time you load up the game this beast thunders out of your speakers at about three times the volume:

@simkas:

That's partly why I'm so ashamed. I laughed at it there, too.

Actually, yeah, there are. Mind you, this is XenoGEARS, not XenoSAGA or XenoBLADE

Haha, I totally want this game, 10 bucks? Sold. Also, Babel, not Babble. Just sayin'.

Delicious content!

I don't know, stopping a cool tower from being built doesn't give a great sense of progression or accomplishment.

Posted by gbrading

Babble-this, babble that... It's Bay-bel for goodness sake! :P

Mispronouncing Babel... oh irony.

It's too bad they're not showing the local multiplayer, as that could be just the thing to redeem this seemingly simplistic and repetitive game.

Posted by Zeg

Sorry, I only want one game based on this bit of the bible:

It's pronounced either way. I had an argument with someone over this once.

Posted by Mystyr_E

whenever I think of the word "Babel", I no longer think about religious towers and stuff

I think about naked and deaf japanese girls

They are not mispronouncing Babel... It is technically pronounced as Ba-ble similar to how people pronounce Babylon.

Brad thinking Iraq (Mesopotamia) and Greece are not far away from each other both physically and culturally was pretty sad.

It's oddly fitting that it seems no one can agree on how to pronounce "Bable".

Maybe he's going deep with some Babylonian references that made their way into Greek culture...such as the shadowy reflections of Elysium being the best one can hope for in death. Then again he had to ask if Korean artistic style was synonymous with Japanese, which even if objectively definable would probably cause a stroke in many residents of those nations.

God/... woops!

Brad is awesome.

In the context of early civilization they're a hell of a lot closer to each other than they are to... just about any other society or center of power.

I got the impression Bay-bel was British English and Bah-bel was the rest of the world. Technically the latter is correct; we in the UK just got hit with this great vowel movement some time ago that shifted its pronunciation. It was as painful as it sounds.

Cain and Abel have nothing to do with the Tower of Babel. King Nimrod was in charge of Babel, which I believe is why his name is now a derogatory term. For what it's worth, my favorite game that includes the Tower of Babel is Illusion of Gaia (I think Terranigma might've mentioned it as well).

In hebrew it's bah-vel. So in english I pronounce it babel rather than baybel.

I would read GodxBabylonians

[bey-buhl, bab-uhl], by the by to everyone complaining.
