I hope you already have the quest then. Because putting that word in disqualifies you from earning it.

This game looks really fun make some good use out of my 3ds

This looks great. Might have to try it.

That was an Aliens reference Patrick. Mostly.

Nothing like a Patrick and Brad QL to wake you up in the morning!

Posted by Veiasma

This looks very repetitive.

Interesting but to repetitive...

I'm really digging the DOTT-style clouds :D

Patrick you should try Orcs Must Die! a cool tower defence with plenty of action, nuance and variety.

Easy to get into and doesn't take long to complete, but if you like it there are more layers of challange, costs around $10

the train keeps a rolling

Posted by NaDannMaGoGo

Holy cow that game looks sickly awful.

There wasn't one part in the video that seemed fun to me. Not one, and you have to repeat all of them a billion times?

Also this doesn't deserve to be called a proper Tower Defense if really it's about you rolling for hours.

For some reason I'm getting a No More Heroes mini-game vibe from this.

So the aesthetics are directly pulled out of Zelda games

Damnit...

Dillion... Armadillo...

I couldn't figure out why they named him that.

Game looks really fun. A mash up like this, I almost thought it was from the guys that did Henry Hatsworth.

This video was 22 minutes too long...

Without having played this game, just going by my gamer sense, I think you missed some mechanic of how to adjust the area the towers are supposed to attack. I'm thinking that because the green FOVs of those towers were both pointing in the lower-right direction and it seemed to me as if they only started attacking the enemies once they got in there.

Posted by Rox360

It's very rare that I just can't bother finishing a quick look. Even ones for games I have little interest in, I usually at least listen to while doing something else. Not this time. So very boring...

NO ALTERNATIVE CONTROLS FOR LEFT HANDED PLAYERS!

Please report on that, internet. I just flushed ten bucks down the toilet on a game I can't play.

22 FIGHTS IN THIS ROUND? Oh my god.

Wow that's a sharp gamer sense.

Gotta say, you didn't give this game much of a fair shake. You're using one move, completely ignoring the grind and claw attacks. Grind attacks give you more collectibles while a claw attack can be bounced from one enemy to another, quickening a fight. Also, this is the first level. Enemy variation ramps up considerably by the third town. Actually you just kinda suck, and I'm not saying that to be mean. A shotgun tower is used for taking out enemies prone to attack said tower, while the gatling gun and canon are for longer range. I don't think you spent much time actually learning the mechanics. It's pretty deep if you give it the time.

You lost me at ""Tower Defence"

If there's time to do a QL of this, there should be time to find that PSP video out cable and do one for Corpse Party.

I'm not sure how sarcastic that comment was so I'm going to take it at face value. Thanks! The thing is, I've been watching Quick Looks for a long time now, at least since 2000 or whenever GIGA Games started airing, and I noticed that a lot of people lack the skill to intuitively learn how to play a game while also presenting it for an audience. Brad's probably the worst offender out of the giantbomb guys, ignoring on-screen prompts or obvious solutions. Well, either him or Dave. On the other hand we've got Jeff who generally knows his shit even with games he hasn't spent any time on.

Either way, I'm totally talking out of my ass for the turret adjustment thing, that's why I phrased it so cautiously instead of going "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!".

Posted by avid8bit

@paulunga: I've played it and it isn't immediately clear if you can do that or not. After poking around it looks like you can't, though I'm only on the fourth town. The level designs are very specific.

Couldn't resist

Posted by Senor_T_Muhnay

Patrick Klepek is picking up a lot of Ryan Davis' linguistic idiosyncrasies.

There is definitely a shared vernacular among the giant bomb guys- he needs to figure out how he fits in.

Sounds like you guys are just to stubborn to learn how to use both hands equally.

On the contrary. I made several attempts to find a way to make it work. Using the flat end of my fingernail was the best I could manage, but even that was gimped. Short of maybe holding the system upside-down, there's just no way to play effectively without having the stylus in your right hand.

Posted by EToaster

@melodiousj:

I guess it is kind of an inherent flaw in the design of the 3DS for only having one circle pad on a touch screen based system. I hadn't really considered it before despite being worried about it when I got an original DS. That one at least had symmetrical button layouts.

Posted by cikame

The start reminded me of Psycho Pinball.

Posted by I_smell
@paulunga: No I genuinely didn't notice that, and I usually notice things.
Posted by BigChickenDinner

@melodiousj: Hence the term ambidextrous.....

Posted by melodiousj

@BigChickenDinner: There are some situations where that's worked for me. Throwing a ball, playing a right-handed guitar, stuff like that, but I've never been able to manage basic penmanship with my non-dominant hand.

Yeah, that's definitely something I noticed about Patrick and a lot of the interns especially Kessler. I guess that's their way of trying to fit in. I find it kind of annoying personally tbh. :)

Great, more eShop with Patrick. Also tower defense, even better.

Patrick says he's shown off/promoted the most eShop material than anybody else...

I would beg to differ. (The train never stops)

Action tower defense is not a new or exciting concept. Especially if there's only one unit type.

Posted by FoxMulder

Love the setting and look, but I have never liked tower defense.
