I can't even remember which way I prefer to say it anymore.. the internet wars have warped my mind.

EDIT: I actually find the animation running in the background while I watch the video very distracting.

Animated backdrop is so cool. Hooray for site engineers!

Been playing this the last couple of days, loving it. Levels seem a bit lengthier than I remember and the game feels a bit more challenging on the whole. Really impressed by the game's visuals too, videos/screenshots didn't prepare me for how good the game would actually look on my TV.

David Wise's soundtrack is fantastic and I love the way music seems to play a larger role in the game this time around.

Is that an animated jif I see there?

Posted by johncallahan

I was listening to DMX when I clicked on this link. Now I've had "Woooo" and "Barking noises playing for eight minutes while I stare at the spinny. I'm losing it.

On a separate note, looking forward to this.

I'm really enjoying this game, it looks and plays great, and the music is really fantastic as well. It's a tried and true platformer that is pretty damn difficult, mostly due to the tightness of the controls and how precise you have to be. Regardless, it's really pretty damn good.

Also, you can totally use just the Pro Controller as the primary controller for the game; it's way better that way.

No Brad, actually Capcom made Zelda : The Minish Cap on GBA

Donkey Kong Country Returns was really successful. 6 million sold world wide.

This game looks pretty rad, but the careful, methodical way Jeff plays this game is completely at odds with how I approach it. With all of DK's rolling and roll-jumps I feel like this game's a lot less rigid in its platforming than Mario, which is great. Can't wait to pick this up tomorrow anyway.

The pictures! They're coming....alive!

"These figurines are going to tide me over until Smash Bros."

Too bad DKC:TF is already out, that would have made for a great back of the box quote.

lfmao if you actually changed the way you say gif just because the creator "said so"

Is this first time there's been an animated backdrop? It's hypnotic!

Man, this music is really good.

...I'll probably buy this.

...Wait.

On my work laptop it doesn't embiggen all that much. You might say, what are you doing watching Giantbomb at work instead of working? To which I say, you're not my mom!

EDIT: Oh snap I guess I forgot I didn't have it embiggened at work..

I have to appreciate no motion controls, and everything else looks fine, but the music is craaaaaaap.

This actually looks pretty fun. Still not buying a WiiU though. And it's still a waste of Retro's talents, assuming the same people still work there.

I'm glad Jeff didn't feel the need to be super disparaging about Donkey Kong Country in this video. That's raw professionalism for you. And I love Brad's complete lack of memory for the Wii game. It's practically the same game - world map, health system, etc.

Also, Nintendo has farmed out the Zelda series before. I'm not talking about that CDi crap - Oracle of Ages & Seasons and Minish Cap were made by Flagship, a Capcom studio. Those were pretty alright games, especially Minish Cap. Of course, they were portable games and not "main series" staples, but I'd sure rather see a Retro take on the series than another Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess. Heck, since Wind Waker, the portable games have been where the series shines most.

Choosy moms choose Jif. Don't look a jift horse in the mouth. Wait, what?
