This looks poor to me. Sad, because I like the aesthetic.

EDIT: Going to admit a big reason I'm disliking this game is because of the guy leading the QLEX. He's just SMOTHERING the energy of this QL. Also, I really dislike games that move at this pace, had the same problem with Trine; the movement speed just seems too slow.

DOUBLE EDIT: Also, the combat seems TOTALLY unnecessary.

I get a really Wild 9 vibe from this, especially the way you can smash enemies into the ground.

In many ways, that game was ahead of it's time. This game, on the other hand, looks good.

If it was on the 360 I would buy it.

Reminds me of Trine, so I'm in.

Other than the voice acting this game looks pretty damn cool, unfortunately i've had my fill of puzzle plaformers as of late so i'll have to pass on this for now.

& Jon St. John as anybody but Duke just sounds wierd to me.. at least he's doing something different this time instead of just being Duke like he was in Conduit 2.

This looks really good kinda  Trine in space so  i'm sold

If (When?) this game comes out on XBLA (or steam) it would be a day one buy for me.

The most important thing for this game is that they play test the hell out of it, it's clearly not ready to be played. A lot of the mechanics had to be explained by the dev and that is never good. And those boxes we clearly not easy enough to stack. That isn't something that needs to be difficult, it should be pretty simple to do that puzzle. I never really had an issue with that in Trine, which had the exact same puzzle.

Also, that gravity thing needs to have at least an option to be a toggle.

Seems like this is just like, barely over a third of the game that Trine was. The puzzles here are super super super simple, but feel totally ripped from Trine half of the time...

And the controls for reflecting/placing boxes seem awful. Sorta like the shooting in HP: tDH Pt 1.

What if Valve made Shadow Complex... "Rochard!" Looks solid.

Except this clearly hasn't had much polish/gameplay testing done, which are pretty much the two things Valve is king of. That And actual proper voice acting.

The music that comes in at ~19 minutes is awesome.

This looks like it could easily be an out of nowhere hit.  I am excited.  It looks easy to get into with some great mechanics.

Posted by ashbash

Wow how has no one known of this game up until now? It looks amazing. I will buy this as soon as it is released!

Posted by KaiserZephyr

I'm really liking the music in this game!

Posted by Baal_Sagoth

Felt like a little bit of a slow start but the game definitely ramped up. Looks pretty fun, maybe we'll see it on other platforms in the future?

Posted by BigStupidFace

The guest man guy talking about the game, doesn't sound overly excited about the game. Seemed like quite an awkward quick look to me!

Day o e for me. I love me some sidescroller goodness!

GiantBomb needs to get royalites from some of these developers. I never heard this game and I'd never have been intertested in it via videos or pics. Only a demo(possibly) would have gotten me interested however this QL lets me know to buy it once it's cheap on Steam.

This isn't so different from a preview, really, except that it's a video and people talk over it. If that happened, then developers would have to pay every site that ever covered their game.

You'll be waiting a very long time.  It's published by Sony and is a PSN exclusive.

Steam Please.

@BigStupidFace: I'm kinda glad he was more mellow in describing the games mechanics etc. Gotta be better than "Whaoh Dudes! check out my game man it's totally awesome WOO! Hell Yeah!! Woo! you totally threw that box at that guy BAM!" nah...

This looks incredible!

This guy pretty much nailed it. This needs more work.

To be fair, though, it was Brad controlling it.

Who is running this EX? He seems like a really cool PR person.

looks fun. i want it.

Posted by darksagus

gameplay looks interesting enough, don't really care for the play-doh art style though.

Posted by tourgen

I like the visual style.  some of the controls look a little sloppy.  can't really tell without trying it I guess.  pretty common to the 2d physics games anyway.

Seems super boring and generic to me.

It definitely wasn't all that easy to stack boxes in Trine, even with the mouse - so considering it's Brad playing and using a gamepad, that part looks just fine. As for the puzzles, they don't really seem anything like Trine - most of Trine puzzles were pure platforming, meaning I completed most of the game with the Thief. With the forcefields and the gravity, the puzzles are much more complex.

That said - I'm definitely much more excited about Trine 2 than this. And not just because I don't own a PS3.

This game has "Balls of Steel".

Posted by DerekDanahy

Looks pretty boring.

Posted by aceofspudz

Nice clean visual style. I was a little disappointed that they give you a gun--you already have a gravity gun that can reflect bullets as well as the numerous environmental traps available.

The game could definitely use more playtesting. Some of the non-obvious mechanics had to be explained to Brad when it became clear he wasn't getting them.

Also the developer kind of treated Brad like a small child congratulating him for completing the most basic of tasks.

  • Less awkward voice acting. Main character is fine, just the rest of the cast that bugs me.

Blimey, I don't know what you're talking about!

Posted by vinsanityv22

SWEET! I loves it when Giant Bomb covers interesting games, instead of mainstream "everyone covers this" sh** like Call of Duty. Bring on the indie QLs!

Posted by selbie

The world needs more frontier western-style sci fi games.

Posted by Rox360

My Timey Wimey Detector just went "ding". Turns out there's stuff here. In other words, a fantastic looking little game and a good QLEX! Sign me up as potentially interested!

Posted by BigStupidFace

@Daftasabat: Haha yeah, fair point :) I guess it's difficult to have too much to say about a game where the player (Brad) is chucking boxes around, badly.

Posted by Bunny_Fire

i normally font like these sort of platform games ... but this one has me interlined enough to give it a go

Posted by The_Joker

I'm just glad Jon St. John gets to eat.

Posted by RazielCuts

The moral of the story is 'Never let Brad demo your new game'

Posted by Masha2932

Looks ok, have to see more to be sure

Posted by stafax

You can always trust Brad to make stacking boxes look like a challenge

You got my turbo?

I'm lovin this game. I can't wait to play it.

This game came out of nowhere! And looks right up my alley.
