Racing isn't really my thing

Edited by Swoxx

I just know that after watching this, I'm going to buy it, was so close to buying the 2010 version, man.

Edit: 41 minutes of Vinny and drew? ooooh yes

Edit 2: Wow, this game looks (graphically) like shit. I've been fooled by marketing videos, the rain does look awesome though.

Edit 3: Vinny has never heard of system link? what the hell

Love me some open wheels

Posted by MachoFantastico

Oh how I'm going to enjoy this. Looking forward to this and the game.

Hope Drew drives well.

Does this series actually do that good that it can keep going every year ?

Posted by Ghost_Cat

I wanna go fast.

Edited by AllanIceman

I'm strangely looking forward to this game even though I haven't been keeping up with F1.

Edit: Oh man, It hurts to hear them try to explain F1.

Drew "Driving Games" Scanlon

Posted by MJHAYLETT

lol its almost painful listening to Drew trying to explain a sport he doesn't know

I TWEETED ABOUT HOW AWESOME THIS WOULD BE TO HAVE A QUICKLOOK OF AND YOU GUYS DELIVERED. THANKYOU.

Games have come a long way since Super Monaco GP.

Being a huge F1 fan I'm trying my best to not yell at my laptop screen. Also super excited for this.

what are they playing it on (can't watch at the mo, at work). F1 2010 on my PC looks stunning, so i would be surprised if this didn't look as good as that.

haha, these guys really know nothing about F1.

Nice QL still though!

Posted by ElixirBronze

Drew + vinny = instant win.

Posted by JosephBarron

If ever proof was needed that F1 games aren't noob friendly, here it is.

Posted by AngelN7

Pastor Maldonado representing! , except for the part that he dosn´t even get in the first 10 but for the first year it wasn´t all that bad.

Did anybody else use to pronounce Grand Prix as Grand Pricks when they were a kid? Am I the uh, the only one to do that?

Posted by hughesie27

Their knowledge of F1 is hilarious!

You are not alone.

Props to Giantbomb for recognizing the international audience.

It's amazing how bad a racing game with the same engine as dirt3 can look. Guess you can't do much with asphalt, gras and gravel.

Posted by Clubvodka

My problem with this game is that I love F1 but hate racing games, I'd probably enjoy an F1 management sim more.

Posted by CaLe

Vinny asking if they are real drivers when Shcumacher's name is covering the screen. I don't even follow F1 but c'mon! Schumacher!

Posted by poisonmonkey

Looking forward to this when I get home from work, Drew and Vinny Quick Look = Win

Posted by edenspresence

I am a ridiculous F1 fanatic... so I am going to have to buy this - looks like they solved some of the problems with F1 2010.

Have to say, Drew did a good job guessing some of the stuff about how F1 works. It seems the game is designed for people who know about the rules on DRS and KERS and also about Q1, Q2 and Q3 etc. Oh well, I mean, who would buy this game if they didn't like F1?

@jetsetwillie: Xbox 360

I have the same problem with soccer games. Thank god for Football Manager.

I got the game yesterday. Only played the qualifier for the first race, but I can already feel the driving model has changed. Cars have a tendency to understeer, and I've been sliding a lot more than in F1 2010. This time around though I'm able to recover from a skid. I like it so far. Feels better than its predecessor.

Excuse me, but I think you'll find F-ZERO is the original F.

Posted by bhhawks78

After seeing the picture for this QL and I already am glad I bought the duder shirt.

Posted by Gatehouse

No insult to Drew and Vinny and they're admirable guesswork, but for an F1 nerd like me, this was a little painful to watch.

Posted by Edin899

LOL wow they see schumacher as a driver and still ask do you know if these are real dudes?

Posted by baldgye

Painful to watch... HUGE HUGE F1 fan and have been waiting for this since F1 2010 came out half broken lol... I wish they had someone doing this QL who had a clue.. so they could show off more of the diffrences and updates they made... and not ponder if Alonso and Vettel where real people..

Posted by selbie

That Gearbox quote from Vinny is fucking gold.

Posted by pakx

so to answer Vinny's question, not only do they race in the rain, there are racers who actually improve in the rain. (Ayrton Senna was a master of wet weather racing.)

Posted by confideration

Is this that open-wheel racing that is all the rage?

Online
Posted by ShaneDev

I like F1 but I would never pay full price for an F1 game or any racing game really.

Posted by Vegetable_Side_Dish
@Delta_Ass: Well your English still isn't flawless, apparently!
Posted by drag

@baldgye: they'd have to hire someone in to come and talk about the game properly for that. come on dude you know that's not how it works. drew seems to be about the only one who likes driving games to any great degree so here he is.

it would be nice to know if anything has been fixed though, granted, but considered that the vast majority of reviewers last year didn't even realise how broken the AI was that's another tall order

F1 is not that well known in USA. I mean I live in Finland and I don't give a shit about F1 but I knew most of the racers and tracks and stuff. That's how the world is.

Posted by AlexW00d

THEY SPELL TYRE CORRECTLY DAMNIT >:(

Posted by TheSouthernDandy

Don't buy a racing wheel Vinny...

Posted by jetsetwillie

@Zaccheus: i'm sure it will gain some popularity next year as F1 returns to america for a race in Texas. well, that's if the Americans have forgiven F1 after the fiasco a few years ago in Indianapolis

Posted by AmericanNinja

Vinny buy a racing wheel!

Edited by lordofultima

Kinda disappointed they didn't go into the co-op racing stuff more in-depth, since that is the big new thing in F1 2011.

Posted by Henrikhoe

god, the lack of f1 is unbearable. They don't know shit about f1, and thats kinda dumb. Also the ring around the tires on the inside, is different depending on tires

option, prime etc etc

oh well, usually like drew and vinny to do car stuff, but this was a lot "i don't know" "maybe" "i don't understand"

It's almost as if they lived in a country that didn't know jack shit about F1...

Posted by dr_mantas

Why would they have to know about F1? I, for example, know nothing about American Football, or the names of anyone who is famous for playing it, because I'm in Europe. Americans don't know about F1. Of course I'm generalizing like hell here.

It's a Quick Look, it's all in good fun.

Posted by ImBigInJapan

Great analysis of F factors, guys. Does that mean a Ferrari F430 is 25 times faster than an F-16 jet?
