Nice i was wondering where game room was this week.

Posted by Titl

yay, game room...

Edited by DukeTogo

I never understood Amidar, not 30 years ago, and not now.

Off The Wall should have got the Vans license, but it is a treasure trove of Atari sounds.

Twinbee, aka Stinger, a great shooter for its day and some great music, although it's the kind of shooter that is centered on having all the powerups and then running the board for points - a relatively new concept at the time since before most games' powerup was a double ship ala Galaga.

I hope this renaissance of Game Room continues and look forward to some Sunset Riders.  It is ironic that Game Room finally starts to get interesting after the developer is shut down.

Pacman + Qix = Amidar?

always enjoy the way Jeff read those history sections.
"players take control of KUNG! FU! LU!"

Off the Wall's sound effects are awesome and horrible all at the same time.

Parodius had twinbee in it.

Is it just me, or has Game Room gotten way more awesome since Krome went under? Seriously!

I actually kinda miss the good old days of completely worthless Intellivision games and Ryan trying to kill himself during the Quick Looks. "I hate you Jeff. I hate you for putting me through this". Or whatever.

Goddamnit WHERE IS MY POOYAN!!!?!?!??!?!?!

Edited by Ramone

I hate to say this but I liked the game room QLs better when the games were complete and utter dogshit

Posted by fox01313

Noticed when I was playing the demo of Amidar on the 360 version that the music was there one minute & gone the next so no telling why they couldn't have fixed that. Overall agreed that it seems that the catalogue of game room is redeeming itself now.

Twin-Bee looks pretty cool.

@buft:

It's in the Game Pack, not necessarily released this week.  They release games into downloadable packs all at once then release games from that pack per week

After watching the love for Twin Bee, you guys really need to do a Quick Look of Shoot 1UP.

Posted by Sarumarine

Uh! Could this be the end of the Game Room slump? Of course, given the long history of Game Room suck, it would have be completely awesome for an entire two years to make up for that. But until then, Jeff and Co. can keep checking up on it and drop some fresh beats from Twin-Bee and such.

Hearing the P-Wing sound just made my day. MADE MY DAY

OMG - Thank you so much!!!  I can't tell you how many years I've been trying to remember the name of Stinger (sequel to Twin Bee).  That game on NES is one of my earliest memories, and I've been trying to find the music for it forever.  Now that I know the name I found it on youtube - and every note of the opening sequence is burned in my mind   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5r0ZPPeN-k    The pace of the music kicks up about a minute in and is the best freakin thing ever!!!   Nostalgia overload!!!

@Wes899:  Goddamnit, I was just about to post that!

It's a fluke man, I give it one more week.

That ladder bonus stage reminds me of the very same ladder game I've seen Korean kids play to decide who will be 'it' etc. Much like rock, paper & scissors.

Posted by MagikGimp

3 years before ST:TNG was on our screens. So that's where they got the design from!

Game room will not give up and I love it for it

That boy's head band makes me think he has some kind of head trauma, so maybe this whole thing is a fever dream by a boy who was hit in the head with a rock.

Dont wanna kick a dead horse or anything but, that Twinbee music was awesome.

The Amidar music is awesome:

Ryan imitating the Twin Bee music is a clear sign that he is succumbing to madness.

Nobody is impressed, old timer.

Dragon? Looked like a caterpillar was having a seizure.

Twin-Bee might be one of the only Game Room titles that didn't make me feel ill.

Posted by CookieMonster

Even though it has slightly improved since the closure of Krome, I still think it will take a miracle to make Game Room a success.
