Frog Fractions 2.

Looks really fun, does anyone know if the campaign is worthwhile or is it just the multiplayer that has the most substance?

No one pointed out that these characters are named after the Goonies

Edited by Renegadegd

The developer is Big Pixel Studios (of which I am a programer).

@bobbykatz The single player has 16 levels across 4 worlds. Each level gets progressively difficult by adding new enemies and even new block types. At the end of every world there is a Horde mode where you must fight off waves of enemies to collect the Mega Coin.

Thanks for checking out the game guys!

Would love to see the guys play more of this on UPF.

gj there, game looks fun. Too bad I'm in a situation where no online play is a no-go :/

Seems pretty cool; love watching these 4 player, competitive quick looks. I know it's only a $15 game, but it looks like it could benefit from another two or three game modes in MP, especially since the duders didn't really seem to enjoy deathmatch that much. How 'bout King of the Hill where the "hill" moves around the map as the sections of blocks fade away and spawn in? Or a variant of the rainbow coin where you only got coins by standing still instead of moving? Regardless, looks like fun as is.

This game looks like a lot of fun.

Couch multiplayer and Giant Bomb are my peanut butter and bananas.

"HEY YOU GUUUYYYYSSSS!"

This looks pretty rad. Which is also kinda a bummer in a weird way that lately the best looking couch mp games seem to be on pc, the least portable of any system I won.

Yeah, I'm amazed they didn't pick up on that.

Was just about to post something like that. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.

Dan seems to have an affinity for collecting stars and coins in a competitive setting

"Uhhhhhh, can we fire him already?"

This looks like good fun. The local co-op riches have really been flowing recently.

I was trying to get Rorie to add this to the polls on last weeks UPF.

@overbite: as the resident "deep-cut" referencer, I am surprised Drew did not pick up on the names.

Edited by Murdoc_

This is one of those things that looks alright, plays alright, sounds alright, but it's nostalgic references are too close to home than a loving homage which just makes it irritating and lame.

Danning winning competitive games is a bit off putting to what is usually a happy go lucky nice rube. The personality shift is fascinating.

Edited by MechaMarshmallow

With Dan's hyperactivity, ditziness and inexplicable skill at games I am left wondering whether he's actually the result of some horrible, twisted experiment to create the anti-Brad.

I bought it on a whim the day it came out. It's fun! The trailer sort of misrepresents the nature of the single player by making it seem like a traditional sidescrolling mode, but there is certainly meat on that bone. While I was initially disappointed in the single player offering, by the time 2-1 rolled around I had developed a deep need for the coin.

The biggest knock against it as a local multiplayer game is that the level of complexity and skill required is slightly higher than the ones that see the most action around my house. I could see extremely casual players getting frustrated rather than getting into it.

Why am I not surprised? (I haven't either)

How have I scrolled through this many comments without one of them bitching that the art style is pixels? Nothing left for me to do now except...

Wha... I just... dammit, Dan.

(Honestly, I neither surprised or disappointed. Where I will be disappointed is if you don't rectify this oversight. Josh Brolin's in it! You like him, right? There you go.)

You should probably consider remedying that. I'm sure you'd love it.

No offense to Brad or Drew, but it's really nice to finally have someone for Jeff to compete with at a (relatively) high level.
