Edited by eccentrix

The ladder, Brad! It's right there!

Edited by Morningstar

This game looks so cool. Won't buy it til it's done though.

Posted by DeadeyeMcCoy

Well, now I'm interested.

Edited by altairre

I don't really want to harp on this or anything...but that was a big ladder, Brad.

Posted by rcath

looks like a new Metal Slug.

Edited by jayspadez

metal slug 2013....meets scott pilgrim....meets borderlands ......meets awesome

Posted by Gyoru

Let's see what this ladder is all about.

Posted by rcath

@jayspadez: haha beat ya by a minute to that comparison.

Posted by andrew2696

You know it's a side scrolling, pixel art indie game but that pixel art is Paul Robertson's so I like it.

Posted by Dezztroy

Brad, you disappoint me. You're from the south, you should've realized birdshot would make you shoot pellets instead of slugs.

Posted by fox01313

Looks interesting, was really really hoping for a Shadowrun Returns quick look today but this will do until then. Not a huge fan of metal slug games but this looks fun as a 2d borderlands.

Posted by Ares42

Ye, this game is pretty much monster hunter with different core gameplay.

Posted by JacDG

Love the multiple guy quick looks lately, it's awesome to have more than two people in the room.

Posted by paulunga

Before I even watch this: Has Paul Robertson/Robert Paulson (always get those two confused) worked on this? Looks a hell of a lot like it.

It's the first one, and yep.

Oh. It's on a timer. Goddamn.

3man QLs are the best

Edited by Rrang

The music is really awesome!

Posted by simkas

I'm still not entirely sure about whether I should get this. I love Metal Slug and would love a new game like it, but the gameplay in this just doesn't quite as smooth and precise as in MS and there's no way to shoot diagonally which was pretty important in MS.

Also that art looks awesome but I just can't look at it without thinking of all that crazy fucked up shit that guy draws most of the time.

That ladder sure was big.

pretty sure everyone else said "oh it's metal slug" as soon as the first images came out

not that that's a bad thing

Posted by datarez

Looks really good. Hope they can get it to vita. PS blog comments from the dev says they want to. Also I kept getting this game mixed up with Super Time Force in my head.

Posted by Geurge

This looks amazing. Buying this right now

Posted by simkas

Oh wait I remembered that there wasn't actually a direct way to shoot diagonally in Metal Slug, but you could kinda quickly go between aiming to the side and up and have your gun still be firing while going between the two, which essentially give you diagonal shooting.

Edited by AlisterCat

Lots of backseat game design here.

HTML5 HD video not working.

Edited by MrJorOwe

Didn't see the ladder or any point where he should have taken a ladder.

Posted by mrcraggle

I want to play this so bad but looking at the discussions page on Steam makes it seem like it's still quite broken so I will hold off until an actual release. Looks cool though.

Edited by OneKillWonder_

This game was practically made for me. It looks fantastic!

Edited by Butler

Great looking game but that was kind of hard to sit through. I'm not going to bother learning any of the systems and then complain I'm confused. Oh Brad.

All for these multiple man quick looks. ^^

Posted by Solh0und

Will kindly wait for this to hit a steam sale like I did Hotline Miami.

Edited by cbarnes86

Wow, this game looks like a lot of fun!

Posted by Olu

Wow that's sure is Monster Hunter. Even gun assembly is almost identical to bowgun system from Tri.

Posted by Fahrenheit

Game looks real good, when its out of beta ill pick it up

Edited by Hassun

Rudds has evolved.

BRADS!

All this Paul Robertson.

Posted by 014

That looks quite cool.

Edited by Stonyman65

Looks cool!

Also, is it just me or is the audio on this video REALLY low?

Edited by Death_Burnout

This game IS Monster Hunter down to the smallest of details. So for people who have no idea about or hate MH must find this game slightly confusing? As evidenced by Brad having no idea how the boss system works.

Brad encounters an alien technology known as...weapon customization!

Posted by 014

I looked into the game more and discovered that it will support 4-player co-op as well as local co-op! It will be mine.

Posted by buft

just bought shadowrun returns and while im waiting for it to unlock figured i'd catch up on my Giantbomb, 5 minutes into this quicklook and i kinda wish i had grabbed this but time will tell. looks fun.

Posted by CharAznable

Move over, Rogue Legacy. I think I might have a new obsession.

Posted by Wilshere

The combat looks boring. BroForce feels better.

This looks fun to play with friends online. I think I'll wait for it to hit PS4 though.

Posted by Icemael

This only resembles Metal Slug on the most superficial level. Instead of an intense, challenging action roller-coaster of a game that keeps throwing new, cool environments and carefully designed combat scenarios at you, we have boring, bloated levels and loot and crafting elements that break up the pacing (of which there isn't much to begin with). They're both 2D action shooting games and the controls seem similar, but the design philosophies couldn't be more different. Great sprite animations and I'm enjoying the music, so at least there's that. I'll probably try it out once the full version is released.

That's only with the heavy machine gun though.

How on earth...? The only comparison to Monster Hunter are the capture/kill type quests. Everything else is ripped from other games. Get your comparisons right, duders. That's like saying "This game has a hub; just like Super Mario Galaxy."

Posted by The_Ruiner

This seems pret-tee cool

Edited by MachoFantastico

Looks cool, I'm interested.

Edited by Drakoji

@icemael: It's just not Metal Slug, it's more Monster Hunter, which is a game of patience.

@likeassur: The progression through the game is really Monster Hunter-esque. The crafting and the way it's designed too, you only get certain drops from certain type of foes.
