Mhm!

Huh, haven't even heard of this one.

Posted by djvelho

played this game like two hours and loving it :D

awesome that they did a quicklook!

Lol "let me look at this plant under an ancient-looking microscope." RESEARCH

I guess an actual liquid-liquid extraction animation would be a lot to ask.

The crafting in this reminds me of the smithing from Dark Messiah of Might and Magic which was awesome.

Is this the very first Drew-Patrick team-up for a QL?

Posted by Phatmac

Looks like this guy is a little LOST. …I'll see myself out. :/

Cullicular? Sounds dirty.

Although the monster idea initially turned me off this, seeing them map the island really sold me on the exploration aspect. This is why I like smaller developers having different creative goals.

Is this a Unity engine game?

This game seems amazing. Pity I am terrible with directions, so this is a complete no go for me :(

I do like a good finger point, and, on occasion, a page tap. I'm in.

interesting

Game seems really cool. Totally with Patrick about games having a "tactile" feel like this and metro. However that map stuff seems really crazy to me so ill probably pick this up on a sale

This seems super cool! I'm gonna pick this up

Posted by Ares42

Is this really all there is to the game ? 'cuz I can see it being really simplistic for someone who has a decent sense of direction and know how to use a compass well. I would hope that since this is taken straight from the start of the game they just haven't gotten around to discover all the mechanics of the game yet. Hell, with the potion that basically let's you cheat and that massive mushroom farm I would think that the orientation isn't really the major focus of the game.

Posted by Efesell

This seems pretty damn cool but I also don't think I'd ever actually want to.. play it.

Posted by Taiyo

Loving the exploration, triangulation, and map making aspects of this. I think I'll check it out when I get a PC.

Posted by metalsnakezero

That is pretty cool. I usually don't use maps since I remember landmarks pretty well enough to find out where I am.

Posted by fox01313

Interesting looking game but think that if I want walking through the woods game & survival that I'll just go with Far Cry3 then save this game for a steam sale.

games like this make me miss my windows pc...

Show me creature or GTFO

haha

Mysterious island... Reclusive monster... Their own hands...

Is this another LOST game?

Posted by ILuvMsMarvel

This looks pretty interesting.

Personally I think it'd bee cool to have stuff like this in a game like Skyrim or Fallout or whatever. You always start those games as someone who is new to where ever the game takes place, yet it's always assumed you know where things are or someone will mark the location on your map or you hear about a location and it's added to your map. You don't even have to find a map in the first place. You're a prisoner about to get their head chopped off, yet you somehow have a map?

@SolongWrex: will smith finally rubbing off?

Posted by Rabid619

God damn this looks interesting. Another one of those games I'd love to try but can't due to my crappy PC :( glad to see it covered though, the sense of being lost in this game looks just about perfect.

I do wish that the monster would've shown up, however.

This seems neat, might consider it at some point. Seems like you could actually pick up a few basic navigation skills from this.

Yeah, weird how they try to make it "realistic" with the mapping, and then just put a tonic in there so you can cheat it, and also give you a tray that somehow travels stuff with you (why not give you a herb pouch with would actually make sense). This game is an interesting experiment, but seems very inconsistent in the mechanics and the looks. Very impressive for a 2 man job, but ultimately not something I would want to play.

YAY! PICKED IT UP AND DID A QUICK LOOK! He even mentioned that "someone" had sent him a link and told him he might be interested in it. *wink wink*

Thank you, good sir, for giving this the GL treatment. Gonna have to pick this up on GOG.

Cool stuff, always nice to see someone trying to do something new.

I was curious before, but I might be sold now.

Also, for and others, Joe built the engine for the game, which I think is kind of amazing.

If you look at the same known structure on the map, i.e. A Tent or Statue, then change location, say go 30 paces N,E,W, or S and look at that same structure again you can triangulate that way too, Patrick.

53 minutes of no creature. >.<

Kinda want this to be a shorter version of the Endurance Run

You can trip in Super Smas Bros. Brawl. Just saying.

The engine was built in house.

I thought the map stuff was the most interesting part of the game. Some huts/tents have maps that can reveal the outposts on the map so if you're just into exploring on your own, that's an option.

Ezio will also fall all over himself if you sprint into civillians in Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations.

In the military, the technique of finding your location is called a "resection", and you shoot azimuths with your compass to two known locations, and draw a line back from them. Where they intersect is your location. You can do the reverse, called an intersection, which gives you the coordinates of an unknown point.

Honestly, the fact that they've tried to innovate by including this feature accurately is enough to sell me on the game, let alone the interesting premise.

oh man, science stuff is too close to my real job for me to enjoy
