Posted by Sneeze

Maaan I need this game to be good!

I prefer Forza's scenic landscape to NFS' City, i just think it looks so much cooler.

That screencap is amazing.

Edit: Wait. You play as McClane? As in John Fucking McClane? Sold.

30 second ad for Internet Explorer! Ahh!

That ad looks more like a game that would be fun to play, than an ad actually.

Posted by cyraxible

I got a list for all my jack spots.

Jeff's voice sound odd to anyone else?

Posted by Jeric

Damn this looks great, and I haven't bought an NFS game since Carbon. Might grab it.

This looks not great. I thought this would be a no brainer purchase, but Forza Horizon seems like the much better game. It's like they took Burnout Paradise, removed a lot of the flavor, dialed down the size, and added annoyances like the cop chases.

A little mano-a-mano. You know what to do.

Am I the only person who hates traffic in their racing games?

Posted by kerse

I wasn't sure about this game at the first half of this video, but the multiplayer looks really fun.

Posted by Lifendz

The inclusion of cops is why I didn't buy hot pursuit. Unless it's Road Rash, I don't want cops in my racing games. Guess I'll just stick to Burnout Paradise :(.

Forza Horizon is really not the same type of game, here. The cop chases are what I thought was missing from Paradise. The city is not as inspiring, that's for sure.

I came into the Burnout series with Revenge, and I've been disappointed ever since with civillian traffic rules. The strategic arcadeiness of traffic checking was a lot of fun. Revenge remains my favorite Criterion game. I'm glad I randomly stumbled across it as a free pack-in with my 360 console purchase.

This looks great, will get it when I'm done with AC3.

Burnout Paradise was not a very good game.

At 5:00 min: What's the problem with Burger King billboards?! It's much more realistic to have those in an open world racer than a billboard for a video game studio! Has anyone EVER seen the latter? No! But thousands of the former...

Posted by thebatmobile

This looks super boring. I was hoping for more.

Posted by hmoney001

There has to be an avril lavigne song hidden somewhere.

Posted by adam1808

I love that Jeff's bumperplate is "Callahan"

Posted by lordofultima

@AndrewB: I really disliked traffic checking, thought it ruined the game. I love dodging traffic, makes it more tense.

Posted by AaronChance

This doesn't look fun, and seems to control like shit from the way Jeff is constantly all over the place.

Edited by Shivoa

Not sure how this will stand going head to head with Forza Horizon. I suspect it'll get more sales but the critical reception seems to favour the former sim brand.

Posted by thatdutchguy

Looks like Hot Pursuit is much better than this.

I couldn't disagree more, although again, Revenge is the first title I played in the series. I thought it added a whole separate level of strategy using other cars as ammunition to fling at other racers.

LICENSE PLATE "CALLAHAN"!!! ROFL!! THAT'S FUCKIN' GREAT!

Edited by Castiel

This doesn't quite look like the game I was expecting it to be.

Forza Horizon looks way better, but I don't own an xbox so I guess I won't be buying a new racing game this year.

The city looks bland, the framerate seems awful and the way you constantly have to lose the cops in order to do anything seems like it would get annoying real fast.

Edited by Lurkero

Not being able to change cars on the spot seems like a bad design choice. The open world racing already doesn't appeal to me and it seems like this game won't change my mind on that.

Not if you like flinging cars like in Burnout Revenge

Posted by Atwa

I was excited for this, but after Forza Horizon I kinda lost interest in this

Posted by jonnybob

Jeff, when you are in cooldown you can drive through a respray and it removes all heat...

A better Burnout Paradise still makes it a bad game, Paradise was horrible. Jeff likes it, but only because he played it for so long. People won't be playing this in a month, just like Forza Horizon, it bored me after 2 days, this will also be a short lived experience. No open world racing game as yet to come close to Test Drive Unlimited on PC.

But then he has less to complain about.

I had to bust a rewind at around 8:40 because I thought you said "I got erect while a cop was watching"

Posted by xMrSunshine

Racing games are worst when played with random real people on the internet. I guess I won't be getting this even though visually it looks super slick and perhaps it's alright on the gameplay level but so are so many other racing games.

Why doesn't Criterion just make a fucking Burnout Paradise 2 and then let NFS be (post underground) NFS again. What I'd want is another actual Most Wanted, not some Burnout NFS hybrid. I wanna add vinyls to my car and have sick neon lights on my shit. I guess Forza Horizon would be closer the racing game for me this year, too bad I don't own a 360.

Posted by ucankurbaga

I don't like smashing and crashing stuff in this game. If I liked I would play Burnout Paradise. I would like to "race" in Need for Speed game, but in this one you can't drive normally without AI smashing you out of the road, it just breaks the game for me. This game should not been called Need for Speed Most Wanted, period.

Posted by BlatantNinja23

the cop stuff is what will keep my from this game

Posted by sixpin

Disappointing. I was hoping this would be more like Burnout Paradise (although what I really want is Burnout Revenge). Seems like the single player is pretty bare bones and I have no interest in playing challenges with random internet people. Maybe I should have picked up Forza Horzon instead, but I don't get the feeling that Forza is my kind of racer either. Oh well, saved $60 I guess.

Posted by captain_clayman

I really loved burnout paradise, and this...basically looks like that but newer, so it'll definitely be a rental for me at least.

Posted by MjHealy

Have been dying to pick this up. I will be refraining at the moment, though, since my Xbox can't seem to connect to Live. I would have let that slide but with the way Jeff talks about the multiplayer, I will be missing out.

Edited by ucankurbaga

Jeff I respect your views but handling in this game is fucking terrible...Also PC version is unoptimized piece of crap, The fps dips in to 20 with gtx670 in certain sections and it effects handling too.

Edited by Bourbon_Warrior

Yet another reason why the new Xbox should be out this year. Really want to play with friends but that framerate is terrible for a racing game, I don't get it Burnout Paradise had a solid 60FPS and looked great, I feel they are putting too much time into graphics that don't matter on 360

You missed out buddy cops made Hot Pursuit. You had abilities to combat them like EMP, Road Spikes, TURBO and there was a cop campaign at the same time where you called in Helicopters, Road Blocks, EMP and Backup. Such an awesome racing game with friends

Posted by Greenshoes

For a while they were in the Callahan Industrial area.

Edited by CaLe

Speaking as a loser with no friends, this game seems like it was made for an audience which does not include me. I find it disheartening that more and more games are games are heading in this enjoyable-with-friends-only direction.
