Ugh Jeff, I don't think it's in your best interest to absorb the blue essence when you are at 90% health and there are 4 enemies nearby, even though the dual katana UT is shitty.

Know one knows where a Ninja goes.

Somehow when I first heard Jeff announce the game I was expecting an educational math game with the Ninja Gaiden trappings, just seems something crazy that would be done with this franchise & might be better for the handheld system.

Remember that DS Ninja Gaiden game? That sh*t was AWESOME.

Great art style and cool touch controls made it a really great experience. Didn't have the depth of a full Ninja Gaiden but man, that was a good game.

Go Ninja go Ninja go Ninja go

Why is the video player so fucking terrible? Ugh, upload the goddamn HD version to YouTube, this is a joke.

I love Ninja Gaiden, but shouldn't this be a 10 dollar download at this point?

Posted by Vitor

Man, watching this again makes me remember how much I loved this game on release.

A full $50 release? That's asking for too much. But I'd be happy to pay $30 for one of the most well regarded action games of all time.

Still yet to play a game that controls better and where the combat flows so beautifully. Camera still seems dodgy but it's a small price to pay.

This is still one of the best character action games out there. But, not having played Sigma before, this looks a lot like Ninja Gaiden Black. I feel like Sigma looked significantly better than this.

This will be the first game I purchase when I get my vita next week. Goodness I can't wait for the vita to finally deliver the promise of real games on the go.

this is the game that was going to sell me on the Vita. instead, i went ahead and pre-ordered Ninja Gaiden 3. this looks pretty awesome and ninja-y, although the frame rate doesn't seem so hot for a NG game.

hot damn I love ninja gaiden. this makes me want a vita

I remember Jeff gave this game a 9.6 originally. Still one of the best action games. If one perseveres, it is a rewarding experience.

Double the ninja games at the PS Vita launch.

Posted by Psykhophear

I'm still gonna get this game even though I've already played the previous three versions (Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden Sigma)

Ninja Gaiden seems like one of the more challenging uses of Jeff's tendency to Push X Until It Dies. But then, I never actually played one.

Timed buttons presses, Jeffrey, no mashies.

Brad or Patrick didn't even beat Ninja Gaiden?... It's one of the greatest action games ever made. That's a loss. At the time, it was kind of like RE4 but with swords, in a way.

Posted by gringbot

Oh god, how did I ever miss this game? Absolutely buying it.

Posted by VikingChux

God dammit, Ninja Gaiden was my jam. Despite playing through it and the Sigma version multiple times I find myself really considering getting this too. No action game since has been as satisfying, and I miss that feeling of having to go to friends' houses to beat Alma for them.

I completely agree. I find it unacceptable that people that give their opinions(which shape others opinions/purchases) to not have play certain games. Ninja Gaiden is one of them. And yes Brad, the bodies DID disappeared on EVERY iteration of that game(I'm sure he wanted to use that as fuel for a VIta downer.)

As for the game itself, I'm hesitant to get it because I've played it on the Xbox, BLACK, and Sigma on the PS3. NGE on the go would be pretty awesome tho.

@Law313: Oh yeah, no. I don't want this game. I've played enough Ninja Gaiden in the past. It was a fantastic game then though. Plus, I already have the original and Sigma already.

Being in the middle of let's playing the original Xbox Ninja Gaiden right now, I can immediately compare this to that, and I find this looks very plain in comparison. Textures are much muddier, there's fewer effects in general, sword trails look less flashy, surfaces aren't reflective... Maybe I shouldn't be surprised that the Vita can't hold a candle to top-tier Xbox games, but it's still nice to have confirmation! At least it seems to sound and play like it should, and that's the important thing. As long as the ergonomics of the device hold up to such an intense game and Jeff seems to be doing fine.

As for Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus sounding like the latest in violence-based maths edutainment... I'd be more than okay with Team Ninja making the next spiritual successor to Typing of the Dead!

You'd think that the addition of a right nub would eliminate lousy camera controls/angles... So far, this does not seem to be the case, save for a few games/generes that never had that problem (ie Asphalt, Rayman Origins, etc)... It's painful sometimes...

Posted by Suits

This makes me.. wants to play Rayman Origins even more for some reason

Same thing I said, I dont know if I'm going to get it, I just love Ninja Gaiden alot, and it wouldn't be to far fetched if I did purchase the game. But yeah, your right, why buy the same game multiple times? (yet that didn't stop 3DS owners from buying and playing OoT again, and again)

I like Ninja Gaiden 2 better--the difficulty was a bit more forgiving and there was lots of dismemberment.

There are two types of people who talk about NG: those that respect it, and those who hate it.

I don't know much about Ninja Gaiden, but I'm pretty sure the exact same story sequence they just played was in the first game or something, or is sigma plus supposed to be a remake?

Posted by popmasterruler

Jeff go down the hole,Jeff go down the hole,Jeff go down the hole(Tiny Toons lol)

Posted by masterfaculty

The best part is, if I'm not mistaken, the key Jeff is looking for is down that hole to the left on the way out.

Posted by SockLobster

@LittleBigJono: Just like the original sigma yes, it's an HD remake.
