Just bought it. I love this game.

Edit: I also played the beta quite a bit until my I got to a point where the game was broken. Can't wait to play the final build.

This isn't my type of game at all, but I love watching it.

Just got this game. Fantastic so far, although it's just improving on demo content I've already seen. Still, great game.

oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck I forgot this was coming out today. Have a feeling this is going to land on my games of the year list.

I am happy with the amount of Alex lately.

This looks like it will probably be interesting. I would keep out Alex too. :P

I played the demo like twelve times...

So excited you guys put a quick look up! Trying to pass the time until Steam says I can play this! lol

Edited by Twisted

Had no idea this was getting a full release now. I really enjoyed the demo/free download version of the game. A fully finished build should be great. I'll consider picking it up eventually. It's a very good game that I would recommend to anyone. Even if you only play a free version of it (assuming it's still available), it's worth the time.

Bought it from GOG yesterday, now it's playable. God damn it's a great game.

Ooh, yeah! I played the beta and loved it. Will most likely be buying this soon.

I loved the beta of this and might have to buy this at some point.

Still watching the quick look but do wonder what would happen if you give someone going into the country one of the cards for the club you get from other people (if that changes anything). Cobrastan has to be one of the greatest sounding country names ever.

Shame that when you try to unlock endless mode before finishing the story that the red stamp doesn't show up on screen denying you, or the green to let you through.

edit: just watched the trailer up on steam (which as of now will be available in a few hours) but the trailer has some of the more advanced options where there are more official stamps to look at as well as a search option (where the nudity option might come into play). http://store.steampowered.com/app/239030/

This has to be one of the greatest Quick Look captions ever.

Why does everybody assume this is an eastern block country? Arstotzka might as well be America.

What? No it couldn't, nothing about it seems like America. Everything about Arstotzka - the name of the country, the names of the people, the way people look and talk, the way they handle the entry just reeks of eastern block.

@simkas: If it's some shitty oppressive country then why do so many people want to emigrate there? Shouldn't they be running away instead? Where are they emigrating from that would make a communist regime attractive? And why are there terrorist attacks on Arstotzka? Last I've heard America is the biggest target for terrorists, not China.

You're forgetting that this is in 1982, America didn't get that many terrorist attacks back then. Those eastern block countries however had all kinds of crazy shit and bad blood going between them. And there's plenty of reasons people would want to move from one shithole country to another shithole country when they aren't able to just move out of the shithole central.

@simkas: Can't you just look through the graphics and the setting and think about the deeper meaning?

The rest of their family lives in Arstotzka and they where split up when the borders where redrawn yet again?

Wonder if Drew did the right paperwork in order to post this video.

That's how I felt the few other times they showed it, but this time it's really doing it for me. I just need some DOTA items to sell to get my steam wallet filled

This isn't a cat dressed up like a dog, this is just a dog. There's no deeper meaning, the guy made a game about bureaucracy of a cold war era eastern bloc country and everything that was attached to it back then, that's all it is.

Game looks intense.

The Iron Curtain, man. Look it up. Or follow that link. Either way.

Played the demo and liked it a lot. I found flipping through the rule book a bit frustrating though, partly due to the way the interface works. I am aware part of frustration is intentional as it's trying to convey the oppressive bureaucracy, but I still think the interface could have been improved a little.

Am I the only one who's considered printing out crib sheets of the rulebook to validate the issuing cities faster, etc? Is it missing the point and futile wanting to be efficient as there is just no way to meet your expenses over time, and you just have to deal with the income shortfall and all the dire consequences of your terrible existence in Arstotzka?

I was hoping Drew would play this,

Also. This game makes me talk in an Eastern European Accent.

Posted by SilverSnake

I first found out about and checked out this game because it was mentioned on the Bombcast. Really liked it and have already bought it on Steam, waiting for it get unlocked now. Going to save the quicklook until I've played it through to avoid spoilers. Excellent game!

I still think it's applicable to America (or any country). If it was literally set in America, how would the game be different? You'd still deny/detain people with fake passports. We've even experienced heightened airport security after terrorist attacks/attempts. I've seen soldiers with M-16s strolling through airports. I just don't think you can say that there is absolutely no relevance to anywhere on the planet outside the Eastern bloc.

I think my name might be in this game. Jorji Costava is a funny one, too.

@silversnake: they only play till day 4. If you played the demo/beta, you've seen everything they covered in this quick look.

Add to that the "random" strip searches. Politics don't change, no matter how much people try to sugarcoat them.

Edited by AURON570

lol Jeff. 10 combinations? *sigh*

even assuming that numbers cannot be repeated in the code, the total # of possible 5digit codes would be:

10x9x8x7x6= 30240.

Explanation: 10 possible numbers to choose for the first digit, 9 for the second digit and so on.
