Dan is probably the first person to refer to the Statue of David as "that guy holding his dork"

He's probably the first person to call a penis a dork.

Does anyone know if that 1997 Blade Runner game is any good?

Posted by BenderUnit22

Goddammit, Dan.

Posted by Mcfart

Horrible game, entertaining QL! Laughed at the ghost dropping the key. Man what a bait-and-switch lol. "THOUGHT WE WOULD CHANGE THINGS UP? NOPE TAKE YOUR KEY."

Youtube is letting me down, but I immediately thought of Peter Boyle in Johnny Dangerously saying "Take it easy?! I'm standing here with my dork in my hand!!"

You know, I like Dan, I really do. He seems like a really awesome and amiable dude. However, I never ever want to hear him speak his opinions on movies or else he'll drive me insane.

Yep, bit clunky because hey, old adventure game but it's great and feels very Blade Runner.

Posted by Asmo917

@wolfmanjenkins: Dan was a film major in college. I'm not making that up. He's also never seen The Godfather.

Posted by ConstantineL

It's a little thing, but the statures all look like poured concrete, bugged me through out the video.

Dan watch Blade Runner. Also 2001.

Posted by Achaemenid

Dan if you watch Blade Runner (you should) get your hands on a copy of the final cut.

Lock all the doors in your house and place all the keys out in the open in random places throughout your house and yard. It's the perfect home defense system!

Posted by jetimus

I am becoming more and more concerned that Dan is simply some type of alien pod human trying to piece together memories of the real Dan.

Posted by Snipper138

Dan's a terrible human being sometimes.

Outlast and Gome Home in the same sentence... amazing!

also, Drew seemed genuinly bummed he couldn't smoke the cigars.

Some one here had not seen the classic "Monster Squad"

Edited by AMyggen

@jetimus: Because he just saw Blade Runner one time? People are really stretching the whole shit Dan doesn't know meme a bit thin here.

Anyways. The magic key fairy strikes again!

Did somebody mention a key? Have they found it?

Guys, before you go saying that Dan needs to see Blade Runner, keep in mind, this is Dan. Does Blade Runner seem like something he'd like? I mean, I love Blade Runner, but even I admit, that movie is pretty boring if you're not into it. For all I know, maybe he would really like it, but just keep in mind that like many people, Dan has his own particular (and sometimes strange) opinions and tastes. And that saying it in the comments isn't going to magically make it happen.

Hell, I love basically everything about Blade Runner (sci-fi noir, Shitty Future, androids, etc) but think the movie itself is actually pretty bad.

"Take a screenshot of that dragonfly"

"Clutch move, Drew"

LOL

@unastrike Perfect "God damn it Dan". Nice work.

There's no wresting in it, so of course he won't be interested.

Hmmm.. a wrestling themed horror game.. ghosts, vampires and creepy pale faced girls are attacking you with suplexes and piledrivers.

Yes, finally someone who has the same feelings as me about Blade Runner! On paper Blade Runner should be my favourite movie ever. I love the soundtrack, I love all the themes the movie is about, I love slow moving sci-fi, and the ending is fantastic. But for whatever reason I do not like the movie itself. It's one of my biggest pop culture mysteries, along with how on Earth I can't get into Tom Waits' music.

This quick look was pretty great.

Everything Dan says about him...it's...AAAArghh...

Posted by ShaggE

A game too slow and uneventful even for Drew!? Is... is that possible?

Edited by thebigJ_A

Drew: "Shift runs, thank goodness"

New guy: "Got some more Half-Life stuff goin' on here"

...

What. Shift to run is.... I quit.

@shagge: There's slow games, and then there's bad game design. This is the latter. I mean, the only thing you do for the first four days here is collecting keys. Who thought that was a good idea...

Posted by DarkeyeHails

I'm kind of intrigued to find out what the game is supposed to use to determine "your deepest fears". Sure, it is probably absolute nonsense, or not functional, but I would love to know what is supposed to be happening. Unless it is actually working and the game sussed out that Drew's fear is that he is wasting his life.

Next time on Spookin' with Scoops... Keystlevania.

Okay, I thought I loved Dan, but selling your copy of Blade Runner and unsure if you ever watched hurts me so hard.

I'm pretty sure he's trolling us all at this point.

Keys have never been funnier.

Edited by Domineeto

Aw man I was actually interested until they showed the day/night cycle was fake and based on your progress. A game like Scratches with a day/night cycle and a dynamic environment would be really neat.

People are just playing up every little thing at this point. Him having seen Blade Runner with one eye and not remembering much of it isn't a big deal at all.

Posted by Sammo21

This looks absolutely horrible with the worst game design possible. Seriously, the architecture in that house awful. No sense of scale.

Edited by Honkalot

Shift does not to my knowledge make you run in Half-Life 1 or 2. /smug

Edit: Wrong.

Rewatching the beginning, they totally look at that exact painting, but it must not trigger until the later day. WHY WOULD YOU PUT IT IN A ROOM YOU HAVE ACCESS TO RIGHT AWAY? Wouldn't THAT be when most people look at it? Why would you go look at it again randomly on another day?! Getting the prompt to go look at it immediately takes away any scare factor!

@dusker @atomic_dumpling

Maybe you're going into it expectating too much of it, or thinking that you'll love every second of it. I think Blade Runner is a great movie but it's very much a movie about a destination and not so much a journey. After you've seen it and understood the points it's trying to make, theres not much need to rewatch it too often. it's like playing Gone Home over and over again.

Dan:

Blade Runner has Indiana Jones and The Hitcher in it. You'll like it.

@outerabiz: Maybe it's something like that, I don't know. It just sounds so much like the perfect movie on paper, but does so little for me. It'll forever remain a mystery I guess.

@amyggen: The overreaction to Dan is more baffling than anything he's said at this point. Yes, even the egg shells.

Posted by Draxyle

I'll fully admit, a lot of my culture and knowledge came from The Simpsons as well.

Posted by AMyggen

@xite: It'll just continue to grow until people get tired of it.
