3D-Models? BOOOOOOO!

Posted by Imsorrymsjackson

Oh man, so much hype for this.

Posted by Skrams

So I really have no reason not to buy a 3DS now. And I still need to finish Unwound Future.

Posted by Brinty

Been wanting to see some of this.

A fortnight is two weeks. "Fourteen nights" -> fortnight.

Posted by BBQBram

I need another 3DS game, will this be the one?

As much as I don't want to watch this, for fear of spoilers, I must...

How does Patrick feel about starring in a successful game series?

Wait, no Brad on this one? Conspiracy

Would YOU trust Brad Shoemaker with the next Luggage Crisis? I know I wouldn't.

Paid for by UnrealTournament2004ForCongress.

Professor Klepek?!

Man, this looks really good!

I love me some Layton.

Kind of want to go back and finish the puzzles in Unwound Future, but the "Hey, go back and do everything before the end" is at a very awkward point in the story.

Also, that story is a total bummer.

Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton is also in 3D... and polygonal.

Posted by sissylion

I should check this series out eventually. Probably. Maybe.

Posted by zerdune

Layton and Luke look like dolls. I don't like the new graphic style at all.

Posted by Divina_Rex

Oh God that rabbit part.

Edited by beard_of_zeus

Girl, wiggle that tuftie of yours for me. Hold it right theeeere...lemme jot it down in my......rabbit journal.

@Dagbiker: A thousand times yes.

The third Portishead album is excellent.

Ryan: Professor Layton is a grown up funky student.

Getting the scoops right here at Giant Bomb.

I don't mind the polygonal models, they stick very close to the original art. Always loved the additional minigames in your menu (except for the tea brewing, maybe) so happy to see at least 3 of those this time around. Definitely getting this game.

"I like the floppy ears!" -Ryan Davis

Truly profound.

Bahaha I lost my shit with penis face, fucking hilarity!

"Fuck Ryan Davis" for being so dismissive of the 2nd and 3rd Portishead albums.

I was listening to the music, saying it's a lot of Dark Cloud (2) like...and then I looked up this is also made by level 5. C'mon Level 5, make a Dark Cloud 3!!!

Obviously Vinny hasn't beaten Unwound Future XD God I love these games!

Posted by AlexanderSheen

Vinny's Brobbit impersonation during the tuftie part was something special.

Posted by Benny

I love that Ryan imagines cute looking animals and such talk like this:

Posted by xite

Looks alright.

Posted by JackSukeru

I need to catch up on these games someday.

Posted by evanbower

This and Zero Escape.. the first truly great week for the 3DS.

Can someone please explain to me the "Sharing the Burden" puzzle? Given the rules of the game, couldn't the luggage have the following weights:

F=10, E=9, D=8, C=7, B=5, A=1

That would mean: A+B+C+D+E+F=40,

while all the pieces has different weights and weigh 10 or less, as described by the rules.

But if FCA / EDB is the solution stated by the game, porter 1 would carry 18 while porter 2 carries 22, which he can't. Maybe I'm just missing something ( - probably!). It's getting late here.

Posted by MiniPato

God, all this just makes me want a Dark Cloud 3 sooooo bad! And if they do make one, they better have Luke and Layton costumes in it.

Posted by TimFReilly

I find myself liking the 3d versions of these guys less than the 2d ones. Lots of awkward idle animations...

Posted by abara

Regardless of how you feel about the character models, the way they overlay the painterly-styled background textures over the 3D environment model is really stunning in person. Absolutely gorgeous game, one of my favorites for the 3DS so far.

For one I'm not sure where you're getting those weights from. Secondly, for all we know they might include fractions as well. The point is, we don't know what the weight of the luggage is other than that it's sorted by weight and that there's no suitcase that weighs more than 10 pounds.
