Speaking of RDR, why was there never a review on the site?

Posted by Brake

I love the word zambies.

Posted by Rokkaku

Zombies and Wild West and Halloween, yes.

Posted by Conformunist

Well... I'm sold.

Posted by smiddy
Wow, if there really is 6 hours of single player content here I'm really impressed since that's more than a lot of full games these days. I haven't had much interest in the past DLC for this game since it's been focused on the multi player side of the game, but this looks great.

Has anyone already finished the QuickLook? I haven't finished the game (currently in Mexico) and don't want to know anything about the ending? Should I watch? :/

Posted by kratier

finally?

Posted by sixpin

Bought this last night. Rockstar brings quality DLC, imo.

@Garadon: They didn't get a review copy. They had to buy their own. Time constraints vs other releases/events to cover (PAX I think). There where a few reasons. I think Jeff even said that too much time had passed to do a review, so they just moved on to other things.

Edited by fedorajay

Had I known it was six hours worth of content I wouldn't of sold my copy of RDR to a friend. Oh well.
Six hours worth for ten dollars is awesome. I really hope more devs follow this path of content > price.

Well, this just convinced me to buy it. Looks great.

@snap:  Your safe from any spoilers in the QL, and the pack is totally stand alone.

Probably because they didn't feel it was worth posting a critique of a game just to give fanboys an excuse to rage at an opinion (see God of War 3 review).

My interest in this has slowly risen over time.  I have to get it now.

It was because they weren't sent out a review copy and only obtained the game on release date, at which point they felt it was pointless to put out a review which would mirror the opinion of most other sites (THE GAMES AWESOME) as it would have been too late for anyone to find useful.
Posted by weegieanawrench

Damn, this looks great. And even better, it's only 800 points?! That's pretty cheap for 6 hours of content.

Posted by madroxcide
@snap: This is separate from the regular single player and they didn't spoil anything.
Posted by Meltbrain

I can vouch that this is a great DLC. I got the 1600 point bundle pack Undead Nightmare Collection and the single player Undead campaign alone is a blast. If you're into multiplayer there seems to be a nice amount of goodies there, too.

Jeff said on formspring that it came out in a bad time and it was shortlisted to not get reviewed, they did not make a commitment anywhere that they would so they did not really have an obligation like FFXIII
Edited by turilas

Must be some sort of price experiment for Rockstar to take only 800 points for this. I hope it proves successful so that we'll see prices like this in the future.

seriously did not review RDR or XIII? what the hell.. yet they take the time to do like an hour long meatboy segment

Posted by Jeffk38uk

I still need to play the actual RDR. I still hold out that Rockstar will do a PC version. :(

They didn't get it early and everybody knows it is very good, so they skipped it.

I'd rather watch them play The Sims 3 for an hour than read a review that will have an obvious score, PAST its release date.

Watched the QL, bought the DLC.

Do a bit of research before you make unsubstantiated claims. They did review XIII. A review takes much longer than an hour of Super Meat Boy. Also, how many people do you need to tell you RDR was great? Meat boy was topical when they did the QL, but by the time one of them had completed RDR (after not getting an advance copy) there were a hundred reviews online.

Momma done ate daddy. This DLC looks like a lot of fun.

I had my doubts about yet another zombie game/add on, but this looks pretty good.

Jeff said on his forumspring they thought that it wasn't worth it due to timing. They had to buy it on the day it came out then play it and then post a review really late when there would already be tons of reviews out for it. So they left it. A very good reason.

This looks like some pretty good dlc, mister.

BRAAAADDDLEY!

Nice.

Edited by samcotts

Brad says RDR is his favourite game of the year by far?! Expected SC2 to be his pick for GOTY. Years not over yet I know, but I reckon Giant Bomb's GOTY has already been released.

We know Jeff wants ME2, and he's right, it's easily the best game this year for me. Just down to Vinny and Ryan, will be interesting. Reckon both will go for ME2 as well, but Brad is stubborn so it might not matter.

Posted by Wuddel

Wow. I might by RDR just for that,

Posted by BeautifulSpaceCowboy

I've been waiting for this QL. Undead Nightmare looks like some great DLC, and since I just beat Costume Quest, I could use another Halloween themed game!

Posted by Gizmo

As someone who burnt out on RDR months ago, I think I am finally ready to go back and play this DLC.

It looks fantastic, and I have only heard great things about it.

 This here's mah boomstick
They are indeed doing experiments, because you can also buy it on a disc for $30. Pricing it about the same (2x$15) as Episodes from Liberty City, so I assume that's a standalone RDR launcher with less content than the full game, but more than just this DLC? Maybe?
The box art is easily worth $20, IMO.

It reckon Ryan would go with ME2 for GOTY. He was really into the DLC too if that is any indication. With Vinny I have no idea. The debate of RDR vs ME2 needs to happen because both are great great games but in the end... ME2 needs to win.

I wouldn't count on Vinny and Ryan to hold the same opinion as Jeff. Based on Ryan's reaction to Jeff voting for ME2 I'd say that is at least one vote that may not going toward ME2. Both are excellent game though.

@Regal: I'm sticking to my theory about Ryan. I don't know if he'll go RDR, but I don't think he will pick ME2. I'd vote for RDR to be the winner if I had to choose. RDR edges out ME2 for me due to the story. I felt like ME2 had the weaker end game.

my GOTY by far.

same.  Talk of ME2 vs this for GOTY.  Wow, not even a contest.  No game even touches this game in quality and I'm not even a huge fan of the Gran Theft Auto series.  Can't think of a single other game thus far I would put up against this for GOTY (that would have a chance at least).

This just reminded me of why I think Red Dead Redemption should get game of the year. This looks like the best zombie game I would ever play.
Posted by Make_Me_Mad

Not a huge fan of this quicklook.  I'd have liked to see a little more of the story just so I could see how it handled itself instead of them cutting everything off a few sentences in.

this just convinced me to buy it...
