All I saw was Nine Inch Nail lyrics and my heart started racing.

GiantBEast has been really surprising me in a positive way. You guys have a great dynamic that wasn't often exhibited before. Really enjoying it -- keep up the good work!

Yup defo down with the Thrust vibe, and my days with the Acorn Electron.... happy days!

Vinny, will you take me to a NIN concert?

Posted by Darek006

GB Wolfpac brings me closer to god.

@gunstarred: @guardianknux: First thing the popped into my head as soon as I started watching. I wasn't too thrilled with Sub Terrania back then though. It sure looked great, but the non arcade-y game play kind of killed it for me.

Vinny sure knows how to entice me into clicking on a video.

Though after clicking I may or may not have gotten distracted listening to Nine Inch Nails before watching this...

Solar Jetman is an amazing game! Music, graphics, physics, everything about that game was great.
Retrobooster needs a grappling hook thing. That was one of my fav things about Solar Jetman, transporting stuff from a to b.

The video description is just...magical.

Welp, that video description reminded me of the existence of this awful/amazing masterpiece:

Posted by tophernav

I almost spit out my drink when Vinny started singing "take my hand!"

Posted by draky

This video just makes me want to play Sub Terrania. Love that game, played it probably more than anything else on my Genesis.

Did someone say Nine Inch Nails baby?

Fuck all this NIN talk, can we talk about how this game is 18 dollars!?!?!?! That is robbery!

Posted by MattClassic

This looks like a Net Yaroze game.

Posted by Igniz12

I think it just wait for Space Pirates vs Zombies 2 for my weird spaceship combat game instead, thanks.

Edited by fisk0

Looks kinda rough visually, but seems like a fun game.

$15 seems a bit steep for what it is, but I'll probably grab this on a sale.

Year Zero was a great album.

I don't know about that, It has some good songs, but its not very strong as an album in comparison to the previous ones... The slip i think is probably the better of the newer ones.. .. but they are all good.. maybe not the last last one.. Hesitation Marks? that one is a bit.. weird.. not in the good way..

The Slip is garbage and Hesitation Marks is the best thing since Year Zero, which was on the same level of awesome as Fragile and TDS.

I wouldn't say The Slip is garbage, but I did like it. Hence me using it as my avatar when I first signed up for GB in 2008 - around the time of the album's release. Haven't bothered to change it since!

I s'pose it's my bad for talking in absolutes.. I don't really like Year Zero or Hesitation marks, but I do like The downward spiral and Fragile... I guess to each their own.

And here i am now jamming to Year Zero. (No love for Ghosts? :( )

Posted by Darek006

@ripelivejam I loooove track 3 of Ghosts 1, if I'm remembering right.

Also, every album has been mentioned but With Teeth, so...yeah, With Teeth is my favorite latter-day NIN album.

Vinny? Do you have something to share with the class?

I mean, he hasn't been subtle about his music tastes as a younger gentleman. I remember one time he name dropped Life of Agony on some GB video and it kinda surprised me. Then again, he's a New York guy who dresses in all black every day. Dude probably knows him some hard metal.

Fake edit: It was during the Year of the Snake DLC QL for Sleeping Dogs where he made that reference.

I... I kinda like the music. That song at the end there was catchy.

:x

Edited by falling_fast

i clicked because i was curious about why you made all those nin references

two min later: oh, ok, well idunno, this is pretty good: nin vs. carly rae jepsen

Posted by Jedted

This whole QL i keep picturing that scene from ID4, Vinny is Will Smith and Alex is Jeff Goldblum.

Vinny always finds the weirdest games on Steam. Can't wait to see more GB-East QLs.

In some live stream he mentioned he had been working as a DJ at some rollerskating bar thing where he played Nine Inch Nails' Closer (with the chorus "I wanna fuck you like an animal").

And here is the NIN parody video he referenced too, which kinda perfectly emulates all NIN's music since With Teeth:

I just watched this and I'm not sure if it's a clever way of responding the flood of shovelware SHITE that is Steam at the moment or an honest to god quick look.

Posted by MeatSim

Vinny and Alex clearly need to go form a Nine Inch Nails cover band.

This game would drive me crazy.

Vinny just casually murdering Alex and not even BRINGING IT UP is amazing

Edited by Jojojimmeny

The music banter in this Quick Look is pretty incredible. At some point I realised that's all I was really paying attention to... I'd pay good money for an Alex and Vinny album!

As for the actual game, it seems like it could be pretty fun to mess around with in short bursts. The co-op multiplayer could probably benefit from some kind of player indicator when you aren't both (or all) in the same area though.

Posted by TrulyAlive

@sydlanel: Hesitation Marks is probably a bad album. But for a longtime NIN fan it's kind of...well...everything. It's super indulgent and still finds the time to do new things (Everything is Trent doing pop-rock and it blew my face off).
SO while I'll admit structurally it's pretty weak, it's also super mega happy fan-service which after a 4 year hiatus, I was more than happy with.

Posted by TruthTellah

I wasn't sure about this for the first few minutes, but man, this Quick Look got good. Even the game seemed more and more interesting. :)

Reminds me of Thrust. Check the absolutely incredible title music:

That's some nice Rob Hubbard right there!

I was reminded of the Gravity Force games on Amiga that are also very similar but Thrust came before.
Gravity Force 2 had multiplayer and even destructible environments a la Worms.
