As kind of bummed out about it as I am, I don't think they'll ever do another Persona ER. Jeff just doesn't sound like he would ever warm to the idea. Although, I can definitely hear some nostalgia in their voices when it's SHUFFLE TIME!

Also, I might have to watch the P4 ER again now.

@ChineseTea:  I think if Jeff actually spent some time with a new game he'd warm up to it before long, however whether he's willing to even do another ER in order to give it a chance is another question.
Posted by Jedted

What's with the difficulty settings in this game?  Normal is actually Hard, and why is there a Beginner AND an Easy setting?
Posted by Zeik
@Jedted:  Huh? Normal is normal. There's also hard and maniac.

I don't honestly know why there's a new beginner mode when there was already an easy mode, but I guess it's for those who want to be to sleep through most battles in the game. <_<

oh dear god, too many memories of the old ER.

Something about this just seems... strange.

Shuffle Time!

Chest chest chest!

I'm actualy in the middle of rewatching P4 ER, so this is extra weird for me..

@JeffGoldblum: There's only been two, one every so often isn't that much.  They can do a good game again next time, even if it isn't a Persona game.  Another RPG maybe would work well.

"I'm told you it's like a fake cast of Persona 4." "But was made first so..." "Right."
"Dude - one save. What are you doing." "Heheh. No."

This was a rather awesome Quick Look, especially after somehow sinking 99 hours to watch the entire Endurance Run for P4. Makes me want to re-watch it.

Awh the memories . . .

I actually did get a PSP just to play this.

its not the same without chie and GET BENT!

Posted by Swiftoid

If they did an Endurance Run for Persona 3 they'd have to do it on the FES edition so they'd get the full FMV, full 3D envoirenments and "The Answer" expansion.

All of you are crazy. You're better off with the PS2 version.

This has made me seriously consider re-watching the P4 ER.

What the hell is wrong with me?

Posted by Arrested_Developer

I was hoping this taste would hook Jeff into wanting to do another ER but it sounds like the last thing he ever wants to do.

Edited by Vigil80

Seems like a lot of in-jokes/comments during this quick look. Being a newcomer to Persona, I suppose I was just out of the loop.

The gameplay looks intriguing enough, and I've got a few acquaintances that will not shut up about Persona. I may have to pick it up.

...man, that music is bad. I hope there are other battle themes.

Posted by SonicFire

I couldn't play this because of the changes it makes from the original P3...even the music changes make me think "noooooooooo"

And yes, Persona 3 is like a way more challenging Persona 4, with some key differences.

Posted by Shinri

Seriously a brilliant game. P3 is one of the better JRPG's available by far. Too bad they didn't adapt The Answer...

Posted by Shinri

And I have to agree with some people, Jeff's dismissiveness was unwarranted and pretty douchey.

Posted by Addfwyn
@Shinri: Well, JRPGs typically don't tickle the staff's fancy.  I was surprised they even fell in love with P4 the way they did.
Posted by Addfwyn
@SonicFire: The male side has the same music as the original P3, they just redid songs for the female side.

I don't think Jeff is being a douche, he just misses Persona 4 and wants a sequel for that

I never realised this, but the end of 'The Room' and the beginning of Persona 3 kinda link together...
Is it the continuation? Is Denny/Danny/Donny in there?

So no Persona 5 Endurance run...oh well

" After playing through both campaigns of P3:FES and watching the ER, I'm completely burned out on the gameplay of Persona, especially if the narrative is largely unchanged. I simply cannot invest another hundred hours into a game I know through-and-through. Only P5 will get me interested again.  And what the fuck, Atlus? 3 Persona 3 games? Move on please!

You have no idea how much money Atlus made on P3P in Japan do you?

Honestly, having played P3 FES, I'm currently enjoying playing P3P more than I did the PS2 version. The gameplay changes are convenient, but the biggest thing is that being able to social link with all the party members in the girl's route adds more of the connection to/between the characters I always felt was missing in P3, particularly compared to P4. I'd definitely value the additional social link and story stuff  plus ability to control party members in battle and not get tired during Tartarus runs over the animated cutscenes, smoother loading, and ability to walk around the same places hundreds of times with no Square Button fast travel.

(Maybe part of it is that I like having the option to play as girl because I am one, I don't know.)

Even without installing the UMD on to your system, the load times in P3P are much, much, much faster then the original/FES. If you do install the UMD, it takes about 1 second to load everything(as opposed to 10-15 in FES).

@RelentlessKnight: Yeah, I'm waiting for a sequel too. Really gonna be bummed out if none of the Persona 4 characters show up in Persona 5.

Chances are they will, but not in a playable form.

Didn't really want another Persona ER before i watched this QL..

But hearing Jeff go "Chest, Chest, Chest!", and both going "Shuffle Time" totally changed my mind..

A shame that we'll probably never see it..

P3 quick look t-shirts?

Posted by EldrinStorm

What's hilarious is that Vinny's assessment of the appearance of a "you stupid bitch" guy is about accurate.

Posted by eduardo

The PSN version which I'm playing has super fast load times.

Posted by Catolf

having played the console version I'm enjoying this one a lot more than the origional, I miss the animation cut scene's but they aren't really important, I've seen it anyway, so i can just like my imagination fly.

Also... Junpei > Yosuke

sorry but i never liked Yosuke, he was a douche (just an opinion) Junpei though jealous, warms up to the MC after a little bit, but you can understand why he does have his issues. Junpei is bro for life. <3

Edited by Konanda

Playing it now so psyched to go through P3 again. Playing as the girl obviously for the new social links and such, although I'm kind of bummed about the lack of the animations during the cut scenes. I understand that they had to cut down on the amount of data all that would take up to put on a UMD but it does still kind of suck.

Also Junpei > Yosuke.

Also ya P3 is similar to P4 although it gets quite a bit darker, especially what you find in The Answer in P3:FES. Same goes for most of the characters the issues they have are generally more messed up. Take for instance Ken and Shinjiro and pretty much all of Strega with Takaya in particular.

Posted by Romination

The character designs just seem...overly done. all the huge bows and stuff is just weird and the hair and whatnot.

Posted by Ronald

The battle music is not nearly as good as the P4 battle music. Still, watching this makes me sad we won't get an ER of it.

Posted by Crushed

The original battle music (which plays when you play as a boy):

It's the combat.  It's ALL about the combat.  P3P wins just on that fact.  The fact that I don't want to reach into my television screen and STRANGLE Mitsuru every five minutes has made the game more enjoyable just on that fact alone.

"No bitch, you're not casting Marin Karin.  You're going to cast BUFU.  You hear that?  BUFU!  Ignore Jeff and Vinny's screams, you're casting BUFU now.  And you, Yukari, no more Wind Breaking an enemy that has less than 10 hp left, just hit it with your bow and let's move on."
Posted by SBYM

I kind of agree with Jeff & Vinny; even though P3 came out first, watching this makes it seem like all of this stuff is some off-brand P4. I'd still like to play this some day, though.

Posted by GoyaGokou

They literary picked the least appealing part of the game for this....

Posted by Dethfish

I should play P3. It looks pretty good and I'm in the mood for more Persona. Wish I had a PSP though, then I'd just get this. Also, I like the character design of the female protagonist.
