Loving these East Quick Looks. The character's outfit in this game reminds me of the guy from Darkwatch, just needs that sick cowboy hat.

Posted by Scampbell

I'm 10 minutes in and as much I would enjoy watching the QL, I really want to experience this on my own first. Though I might wait for all episodes to be out, as playing games episodically just isn't my style.

Defintely getting an I, Robot vibe, the book of course.

I guess it is coming for Wii U as the only console so far, with some good implementation, that might just be the place for me to get it.

I quit out of the video after 12min, this game looks awesome.

That voice sorta sounds like the guy who does voices in the Wadjet games. I can't recall all the parts he does but specifically I remember he did the voice of Crispin in Primordia. I kinda don't think that is who it is but it sorta reminds me of that voice actor.

Edited by HerbieBug

HerbieBug don't adventure so not interested personally in this one but very much enjoyed watching Vinny play it. :)

I thought this was like a sequel to The Swapper at first.

Posted by dr_mantas

I'm so into this. My god.

The combat in this game reminds me of Gemini Rue. Not great but not enough to get in the way of a pretty good story.

Reminds me of The Swapper, in all the worst ways.

I think you're thinking of Abe Goldfarb, but I'm not sure if it's him. He's Joey from Blackwell, the pilot in Gemini Rue and I think he's one of the main characters in Resonance.

Sort of the Swapper, Gemini Rue, and philosophical musings on the nature of artificial intelligence.

I'll probably prefer to play this with the mouse, just for the aiming.

If the guys had no particular interest in this game, it would have been a standard quick look, but Vinny's genuine excitement about it made it great and made me more excited about it and, by extension, games.

Dan's enthusiasm is helping, but I wish there was more of it! I see the inherent contradiction in asking for genuine excitement, but still I think there are ways to go about it.

For example: real excitement/passion is what made Teach Me Fifa Danny great, and that's why Teach Me X should become a series. It gives the guys (who obviously at some level love games) a chance to go at their favorite games ever, showing off their excitement for it and bringing the rest of us with them.

There's a little Cecil Baldwin going on with the loudspeaker voice. Also, this looks goddamn great and I am definitely gonna pick it up when I get home.

Izzat...Izzat Grif?

Stupid, stupid Grif.

Posted by pweidman

I bought this after Patrick's Worth Playing, and still haven't played. I'll watch this for a bit....sounds like Vinny digs it so....

Posted by RonGalaxy

This really reminds me of the swapper. Maybe not gameplay wise, but everything else does.

Posted by CairnsyTheBeard

@rongalaxy: ye, that was my first thought, looks and plays a bit too close for comfort for me!

Posted by PimblyCharles

Vinny: "Reminds me of Flashback."

Sold.

It's like limbo with more violence lol.

Game AI says to another AI:

You are irrelevant.

I know it's not supposed to be funny, but it'd be hilarious if the AI said:

You irrelevant slut.

I stopped about 10 minutes in because now I really want to play this.

Good find, gentlemen!

Edited by alwaysbebombing

Oh, this game looks fun. Talking about murdering babies with plastic bags.

Posted by ConVox

Well this did end up looking pretty great. I missed it on Worth Playing, but the preview on Rock Paper Shotgun reminded me of Shadow Complex/Swapper/the new Strider which put it right in the Giant Bomb wheel house.

@vinny: Hey Vinny, would you confirm something about the combat, are you clicking or holding the right stick in when you aim? Doing any fine control while holding in a controller stick is a real pig so I hope that's not the case.

Remember the part where everyone else got all freaked out about Vinny leaving San Francisco?

All I can say is LOLZ

I'm conflicted: do I want to watch more great Alex and Vinny content or do I want to go in to this game blind because it looks rad as hell?

Edited by Darson

I was told if I was reading the description and had no clue what this game is then I should just hit play. Like, right now.

Posted by Silver-Streak

@flay: I bought it as soon as Patrick showed it on Worth Playing. I do not regret it. The game is fantastic.

Vinny + Alex is turning out to be a winning combo, GBEAST is 110% Beast.

Posted by CaptainFunny

Quit telling me what to do Vinny! You're not my dad!

Posted by Triumvir

This game looks great! Great!

(Also GBEAST continues to kill it.)

The amount of Vinny and Alex makes me so, so happy.

I can only agree. Great work so far Gentlemen.

Kinda reminds me of the Swapper.

That's a very good thing

Edited by BonOrbitz

The ARID's voice reminds me of someone... A.I. from StarCraft, maybe? I can't place it... Anway, this game looks amazing.

Edited by Noblenerf

FYI, The Fall appears to use a simplified version of the cover/shooter system in Gemini Rue (also an adventure game).

I'll probably get The Fall when all the episodes are released - the story seems really interesting.

Overall this game looks cool, but the combat reminds me of:

yea its actually pretty funny looking back, continue to say that this NYC initiative, and hiring Dan is the best moves the site has done in the last year.

I just hope this isn't one of those games that starts off soooo promising, but turns batshit crazy or up its own ass by the end.

edit: Fuck, that's an amazing gunshot effect. 2014's Swapper just got bought. Hope it isn't too long 'til the next episodes.

The Fall is great, really good voice work and characters

Posted by TheNoseBear

Hmm...could use more Black in it...

Posted by beefyface

That one voice sounds exactly like Geoff from Rooster Teeth.

Posted by CitizenJP

I really want to play it, but if it's gonna be episodic I might just wait for all of them to come out at some point. I dunno I'm really impatient too lol. Hmm... ;/

Posted by TheHT

The danger mechanic sounded interesting, but that exchange between the AI and ninjaman just sold me on the game. Great presentation of an interesting concept.

Not gonna watch the rest of this.

There is an alarming number of people here who seem to think this game hasn't already been covered in a previous video on the site. Does no one watch Patrick's video content or something?

Posted by Babayaga

Love the commentary and like the ambiance of the game. Gonna have to grab it!

Not really. It was a bit of a rhetorical question, actually. It just bums me out, because I've discovered some pretty neat shit through that Worth Playing feature.

I beat this game a few weeks ago. I bought it on a whim from the Steam Summer Sale and ended up really enjoying it. It is really good.
