@brad This is Prisencolinieciniencusol, a song written long ago by a suave italian dude, performed with ridiculous production values, dozens of dancers, and the whole idea is that he wrote the lyrics based on what he thinks English sounds like.

It's also an incredible song.

I pray the next time Brad gets his car serviced the "no ambitions whatsoever" mechanic dumps a quart of wiper fluid in his fucking gas tank.

been looking forward to this. Tried to check out a few live streams on twitch but with a game like hte Sims it's hard to check out all the features when streamers are just, you know, playing the game, not deliberately pointing out all the new shit.

Fucking wow brad. Those fucking dumb fuck blue collar workers with no aspirations.

Way to discriminate against mechanics.

Haven't gotten to that part yet, but holy shit, what a jerk.

Edit: Just got to it. I don't think that he meant exactly what you two are taking from it but he could have worded it much better to not come across that way.

@splodge: was just about to post this. It's so good.

I dont see what i'm missing. He links the character with "no ambitions" doing a "menial" job, to being a mechanic.

And being a barista, but making fun of them is cool, right?

What did you guys say about treatment of games journalists again?

It could have been any job. He did not say "All car mechanics have no ambition and are pieces of shit". He wanted the guy to be a car mechanic with no ambition.

Huh, Sims Emma Stone is hotter than the actual Emma Stone.

Jeff just suggested Barista.

Brad said, menial no ambitions and referred to him being a mechanic in the same sentence.

Also i'm not following up or arguing any further on this. I'll take it for what I heard, I don't fucking hate Brad or anything over it and i'll give him the benefit of the doubt because I would say after years of listening to him talk I have a reasonable good idea of his character.

But it's pretty disappointing. I've come across this attitude a fair bit in the company of middle class Americans, so I'll just chalk it up to falling into that mentality where working hard in any sort of job with physicality and being successful don't equate to the same thing.

Because playing video games for a living is so much more useful than providing a physical service.

Been waiting for this since the Bombcast!

I've played every Sims game and I'm just unsure how to react to Sims 4.

I think EA's recent Sims 2 freebie will fill the same urge to play the Sims that this new installment won't.

Honestly it's the balance between a simulation and a silly god game that I like about the Sims. I want more control over the house design, the stuff I buy, and the decisions I make for my Sims but I don't want the door-less death basements to go away.

This seems like an addition to the franchise that wasn't needed. I think a few more years and some better ideas would have benefited the franchise more.

These are always frustrating because my brain thinks I should be able to understand them.

Who has made the Giant Bomb household, and is it downloadable? :)

Brad hates mechanics!!!!!

(No he doesn't, he talked about someone who just changes the oil and other minor shit, not an actual mechanic)

Posted by lowestformofwit

I am watching them play this game and I have no clue what is going on.

I am not target market.

This was magical. I would seriously watch a premium feature of the future of this family.

When I saw that the description mentioned Emma Stone, I totally thought Rorie was gonna be on this quick look.

This. Also aren't ambitions an actual game mechanic? Or at least were in a previous installment? He might have had that in mind specifically.

Brad's a cool guy. I wish people would stop looking to be offended, it makes no sense and just creates unneeded drama.

Jeff & Brad's dissociation with The Sims is alarming. I guess it was always more of a Vinny & Ryan thing...

Edited by AlexanderSheen

They wanted to make their guy to be an asshole and they didn't choose the 'Bro' trait? Booo.

That's a good lookin' Emma Stone character.

Less than one minute in and I am already laughing my ass off. Thanks guys!

I dunno guys... every bit about this quick look made me want to buy the game more, despite knowing it's the shell of a vehicle designed to cost hundreds of dollars.

I guess I don't own enough of the DLC for The Sims 3 to make a fair comparison of the evolution of the game over time, but The Sims 4 seems to have made a number of leaps forward (with a number of deep steps back). The problem is that with the past two games of The Sims, I've played the base games for a short time and then just never really come back to it for any significant length of time, most often influenced at least a little by knowing there's a buttload of content I now don't have access to.

Definitely agreed. The rumors that this is the scrapped version of an online game in the vein of Sim City seems increasingly likely; I don't know how you could make a sequel to The Sims 3 and remove its best advances of the genre otherwise. There's nothing else here that justifies another number in the title that I can see.

It's the first Sims game I'm not buying on release myself, and I'm kinda bummed about that.

Edited by Viking_Funeral

As much as I love the half-hearted attempt and the comedy that comes with it, I would love to see some masochistic fool (Rorie?) make the Giant Bomb staff in the game and do weekly updates on their weird lives.

I'd do it myself, but... meh.

Posted by CannibalFerox

A very good and fair quick look. I've been playing this a couple of days now and I actually learned a couple of things about the game from this QL. Thanks!

Edited by Corvak

@finaldasa: Been enjoying the copy of Sims 3 I got with the Origin bundle. Adds most of whats in 4, but keeps the control you had in 2.

Posted by Ares42

I remember back when the Sims was an actual simulation game, and not just an animated dollhouse.

Posted by devo1989

Where was Jeff's Stallone impression in this?! :(

Posted by rabbithearted

I kind of want to make the Giantbomb duders in Sims 4 and give Dan's Sim the culinary aspiration.

Also Drew would be an astronaut, and now I'm thinking about this way too much...
