More Star Wars

edit: probably the closest I'll ever be.

Oh God, not more rakghouls.

Spelled queue wrong.

...Star Wars Zombies.......

Posted by BBQBram

Whoo lightsabers right?

Posted by JeanLuc

Wait! The game launched with Taris in it, but didn't have Rakghouls?

Star wars meet isaac

Edited by m16mojo2

Really? Rackghouls? I hated that quest in KOTOR...

I hope they explain how they got off Tarus after it got "blowed up real good"

Posted by Clopsy

@JeanLuc: Taris had a ton of rakghouls. This new flashpoint is just rakghoul centered as well.

Posted by Ben_H

I have no interest in TOR, but remembering what Rakghouls are really makes me want to play KOTOR again.

Posted by Lockeyness

Is that Thomas Haden Church?

Posted by Benny

That stock sound effect scream made this seem almost comedic.

Posted by JeanLuc

@Clopsy: That makes more sense.

Expanded universe can pull off anything.

Posted by Dallas_Raines

Hey, look at those high res textures no one can use.

Posted by rmanthorp

Sweet! Looks neat. We will finally get the hi-res textures :D

Really? Even Star Wars has zombies?...SMH

Edit: Proved wrong later in the thread.

Posted by MrMazz

Fuck im going back to Taris......

Posted by granderojo

Everytime I've had free time to play TOR was around a maintenance period so servers weren't populated at all, which really sucks.

Posted by RobertOrri

This almost feels like Halloween content that was not used because the game didn't make it out before October...

At any rate, really weird to be releasing this as the first major content update.

Yeah, I was already fed up with them on Taris.

Zombichlorians.

Ghouls/zombies in Star Wars?

This looks like the most shark jumping thing ever... if you thought SW hadn't jumped it yet.

Posted by Klaimore

But I'm only lvl 20!!

Posted by MadLaughter

A lot of you are confused or misinformed:

'LOL SWTOR jumped the shark LOL ZOMBIES"

-Rakghouls were in KOTOR, a plague on a planet called Taris.

-Rakghouls already exist in SWTOR, because you return to Taris and many quests involve them.

-This content appears to be dealing with the Rakghoul plague in an offworld population center, when previously it had been confined to Taris.

Posted by Penzilneck

They've got zombies in my Star Wars.

Luckily, I'm completely passive when it comes to the franchise. Good luck, have Balkan!

Posted by HeghmohQib

For fuck sake, how do they not know that Rakghouls are the last thing anyone in this game want to see.

Posted by AlKusanagi

I'm ecstatic they're doing more content, but more Rakghouls? More fucking TARIS?!?!

Oh hell naw... What's next, an all Tatooine expansion?

Posted by YoungFrey

Having never played a KotOR game, I just assumed people weren't lying when calling them amazing. Knowing they contained the word "rakghouls" makes me seriously doubt this.

Posted by IAmNotBatman

Rakghouls? ...The memory of these creatures makes me wanna go back and play KOTOR.

Posted by SquirrelGOD

@AlKusanagi: I don't think so. I think this trailer is saying that the infection has gotten off of Taris. Taris certainly doesn't have "billions" of people living on it to be threatened by an outbreak. I'm pretty excited to see how this turns out.

Posted by Sogeman

still just an MMO regardless of how they try to sell it in the trailers

Posted by Kordesh

Looks like someone over at Bioware finished reading Death Troopers a few months ago.

Everyone I know get these textures, sorry your rig isn't up to it.

Posted by MiniPato

I'm so sick of hearing "We've got a live one!" I mean, we just heard it in the Raccoon City trailer too.

Rakghoul ain't zombies, these humans thingies must be early stages of the infection I'd reckon.
Or a mutation, it's been awhile since the plague was first created.

Still loving the cutscenes.

Posted by fox01313

Zombies or ghouls or whatever these things are, they fail to be all that scary when all you have to do is take a small astromech droid, put a 4 pronged attachment on it's head with a motor (like a celing fan), attach a bunch of lightsabers to it & let it just drive around for a while. Now if this was in the film version of the SW universe everything would be dead again that would have been a zombie, in the game version of the SW universe, the lightsaber is a overglorified electric sword so that idea might not work as well in the game.

...Zombies? Seriously?

nah son, rakghouls. they were in KOTOR which came out in 2002 or 03. Don't hate because you don't know. That's just ignorant.

Posted by Dallas_Raines

@JustKamToo:

That's not actually possible, but okay.

Posted by project343

@m16mojo2: They're still alive amongst the ruins of Taris. Taris is, after all, one of the questing planets in the game. The Republic campaign on that planet actually has the player help them try to rebuild their lost city-world.

Posted by lockwoodx

Zombies were every FPS game's excuse to shoot real looking people. Star Wars zombies are Bioware's excuse to not need more expensive voice acting.

I don't believe so. In KoTOR it was a disease that could be cured, but eventually they would turn into weird ape-looking monsters if the disease ran it's course for too long. It's a neat bit of KoTOR fan service, in a way, that gets a pass from the usual "zombies" thing, IMO.
