Revisit Snake's Crazy Past in Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

boxes.. just played 4 for the first time a few weeks ago. it was alright.

Does this have any hidden RISING content? Even a small hint at it's existence?

I bought it. Played 3 hours of Peace Walker today, never played it before. Wonderful game. AND, it includes MGS2, my favorite game, MGS3, a wonderful game, and those two MSX games I've never owned before. Very pleased with my decision.

So stoked.

MGS2 is easily my favourite game of the 00s, really looking forward to playing it along with MGS3 with a decent framerate.

Also, in the title shot (2:23) with the realistically rendered raiden, big boss and solid snake, solid snake looks A LOT like kurt russell

I am absolutely revved for this. I'm not a big fan, I think I have only played one of these games when it came out on PC, if that was the game. Anyways, my battle plan is to have this on the PS 3 and the Halo HD on the 360, and switch between the 2. They both represent big games I have missed because I was a PC gamer. It is going to f**king rock!

I just wish Raiden..well I can stand a bit of him I guess.

Am I the only one who wonders how difficult it would be to simply change out a couple of character models or something here and there? I mean lets say they just threw in high-poly character models of the main characters and maybe had less variety in high-poly enemies models, would that be extremely difficult? Or maybe it's just more work than they're willing to put in to these but I really wish they would do that, maybe some better looking gun models too.

But simply higher-poly character models, even in their original PS2 level environments would go a long way.

I've never played any MGS game before. MGS4 came free with my PS3 but I never bothered putting it in. I guess I should try it someday.

I got a $5 coupon from Amazon toward MGS: Rising when I ordered the HD Collection. Sadly that's the closest I've gotten to hearing ANYTHING about Rising coming out.

Snake Eater is my favorite. I'm surprised by all of the Sons of Liberty fans in this thread. That game really pissed me off back when I first played it, but it is still a good game - even if I still don't care much for Raiden. His reincarnation as a Ninja made him more likable, imo.

So does Peace Walker have online play? I remember people mentioning that it was pretty hard playing alone, and after trying Monster Hunter solo, I won't make the same mistake twice.

Man gonna have to pick this up always wanted to play Metal Gear Solid 3. I bought it when it first came out but my ps2 refused to play it. *Sniff* its like a long long dream come true, a sad sad lonely dream.

now this I'm anxious for. Never did play 3..and can't argue with updated (even if just HD) MG1-2+

MGS1 not being included almost ruins this for me, especially since the old MG1 and 2 are even in here. I understand why it's not, but it still incredibly disappointing.

That said, never played any MGS game after the first one so I'll pick this up.

Between wanting to play Peace Walker, not having had a MGS game since 4, and wanting to own a third version of Snake Eater (after vanilla and Subsistance) just because I can, this is the first and only HD collection I've ever been remotely interested in.
 
Also, 60fps will be nice when you go marine bowling at the end of the Tanker Chapter. That basically killed the game, originally.

If you didn't like MGS4 there is still a chance you will like this, please do not skip it just because of that. MGS2 and 3 are fantastic

While I'm sure it's an emulation issue I agree... it feel incomplete without it. I'll buy this for sure still, but it is is slightly disappointing. Could be worse, they could have included The Twin Snakes... what a piece of shit.

I easily reached 100% alone on PSP , but there is online play on this version. The biggest advantage of playing with friends is the raised difficulty which means that its possible to capture stronger soldiers. All the soldiers you capture while playing alone have very weak stats which makes building Weapons/Items/Peace Walkers take forever.

The fact that I can't transfarr my game save means I'm putting picking this up until Christmas break when I can grind Peace Walker again. KOJIMAAAAAAA

Oh man, I totally forgot this came out today. I'm way more pumped for this than MW3. Add Skyrim into the equation and I'm going to be a very happy gamer.

Still kinda pissed MGS1 isn't included.

So has 'transfarring' been confirmed for the US release or not? I've read conflicting articles stating no, but the trailer says yes. Any confirmation on this?

Damn....Subsistence was awesome, definately one of my favorite games of all time along with 4.

That one song in the middle of the video was just confusing.

Honestly, knowing about the code for MGS1 on PSN? Day one purchase if it were $40. Now I have to wait a while.

That's a lot of Metal Gear right there.

Although, I liked 2 OK, 3 is a game I would recommend to almost anyone. Truly, it is great game. Best in the series.

Going by tthe one pc game I played, Metal Gear substance (I still have the box!) they do trip and quite a bit, but not as much as MGS4. I also remember a whole lot of interactive on what passes for the radio..forget the name that was called. Same there as in MGS4
