This video player is honestly no better than the last one. Sure, it allows me to seek back at specific spots (rather than chunks), but it has the same issues the last player had, and more. (I'm using Chrome)

Like the old one, some videos will buffer to the point where the "timeline" exceeds the player and goes completely off-screen. If I try to skip ahead a little too far, it'll crash the whole video rather than just defaulting to where it's currently buffered to.

Exiting out of fullscreen re-scrolls the page to the top, so it's possible I'll accidentally hit a link from one of the pop-out menus (happened so much in the past until i started scrolling past the navigation links. I even had an issue where seeking back a few seconds prior caused the video to crash and require reloading.... These two the old player never did.

I agree with this. I have these same problems (I'm also using Chrome). I also totally loved the puppy chat! I hope there is more! Rorie is a great host!

Rorie's reaction when looking at puppies is my reaction to seeing Rorie look at puppies. It's priceless!

Rorie you're, like, a couple of steps away from taking pictures of babies in buckets or something.

As someone who plays kerbal, watching them play kerbal is so painful yet hilarious.

I've never had the first issue in any browser, and yeah the second issue can be a bit of a pain, but it's a very minor one imo. There seems to be reported a lot less issues in terms of videos straight up not working for people with the new player (I can play videos in HD now, which was impossible before), so that's the most important thing. I personally think the new player is vastly superior to the old one, and what problems I have with it are very minor.

Aaaaaanyways, looking forward to watching this when I get home from work!

I've never had any issues with the player, on both firefox and chrome. No idea what people have been complaining about for the past year. I guess I'm just lucky.

If you have issues with the video player be sure to put them in the bug reporting forum.

I'll just hop in here to say that I've had enough issues with the video player I no longer attempt to use it - I just download every video in HD, which works infinitely better and more reliably. (and quicker, too. Downloading the HD video happens roughly three times as quickly as buffering it). I have posted in the bug forums about it, and received a good bit of help from Mr Pibb, but unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be something that's fixable for me. That's why I'm so glad the download option for Subscribers exists.

EDIT: Unless this is a NEW new video player. The issues I'm talking about are months old. Realizing now that this might no longer be applicable. Still going to be downloading the vids, anyways, as that works better for my viewing habits anyways.

@smokeyd123: Yeah, I've never had any major issues in a while, besides some hiccups starting up a video after having it paused for awhile after I go make food, which is sort of expected.

I am exhausted. Town I work in flooded to a standstill. Took two hours to make what is usually a 15 minute trip home. Walked the last mile in cold and pitch black. So dark I could not see the swathes of water I was walking through.

And then I find an adorable stream posted of Drew, Vinny, Alexis and Rorie talking puppies. Thank you so much everyone. I am probably just going to eat a pizza and fall asleep to this.
