Ryan's Inferno

Dude, what the fuck... Mandatory challenge rooms? Most uninspired last level ever.
 
I don't know, Ryan, maybe it's you, maybe it's the game, but this is poor fucking level design regardless.

Holy hell, what an emotional rollercoaster that video is. That's the spot I stopped playing at, but I now feel pretty inspired to forge ahead and not let this fucking game beat me. Excellent work Ryan!

1. THE EASYEST WAY IS TO UPGRADE YOUR HOLY CROSS SO YOU CAN CHAIN TOGETHER 4 BUTTON COMBO!  AND THATS IT! 
 
THIS WAS ACCTULLY THE EASIEST OF THEM ALL, I EVEN GOT THE BONUS! JUST MASH THE B BUTTON UNTILL EVERYONE IS DEAD AND USE ICE PATH MAGIC ON THE BIG DUDES.
 
BTW YOU PLAY REALLY BAD, IM SAYING THIS CUZ YOU HAVE TO DO MORE THEN JUST PRESSING X,Y AND B INCERTEN SITUATIONS AND BOSSES. DANTES INFERNO HAS ACCTULLY A PRETTY DEEP COMBO SYSTEM THAT MABY PEPOLE UNDERESTIMATE AND THINK THAT IT SUX. I NEVER SEE YOU USE YOUR MAGIC, I DOUBTH THAT YOU EVEN HAVE ANY RELICS ON YOU THAT CAN ABSORB DAMAGE FOR THIS PARTICULAR CHALLENGE.
AND SINCE YOU PLAY UNHOLY THEN THE ICE PATH MAGIC IS MOST EFFECTIVE AND YOU SHOULD USE IT ON THE BIG DUDES IF YOU GET IN TRUBLE. TRY ALSO TO COMBO IN CIRCLE, AND NOT FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, AND COMBO ONLY WITH X.
IM ACCTULY AMAIZED THAT YOU PLAY GAMES FOR SO LONG AND CANT BEAT THIS SHIT OF A CHALLENGE!  BUT YOU DID IT SO CONGRATZ!

Well I found this challange wasnt too bad personaly and im not very good at all. The reason I found it simple was went through the holy tree this give u acess to heal spells and aoe

I made it through with unholy path.  The Fraud circle, in general, could have been done better.  Poor Ryan lol.

Poor game design?

No Ryan, you don't suck. The game is mental for making players do what you did. Mad respect to you for sticking with it and not slapping up a angry half-hearted review.

So they got through it finally. Tough maybe, but certainly not impossible by any means. Obviously easier with relic and the holy path, but they're not at all necessary to beat it, as the video proves. Jumping would have helped you a great deal too.

Okay now that I've gotten to the end of this I must say Dante's Inferno looks unbearably terrible.  I don't care if the gameplay is competent, it's "SICK DARK NARLINESS" is completely offputting and kind of inappropriate.  That's not to say I'm against mature (and occasionally messed-the-hell-up) things in video games, but it all seems solely for shock value.  The unbaptized babies thing is pretty stupid, but when you got to the woman begging for forgiveness and a blade is put in her face, it's just gross.  At least God of War has better gameplay AND violence that doesn't seem totally for 13-year-olds.
 
It's like Visceral sat down and looked at 1-1- in Super Mario Bros., and said "man what if that goomba could be STABBED IN THE FUCKING HEAD", or  "man what if that koopa troopa had SICK KNIVES FOR HANDS".  That's right, in Dante's Inferno the act of brutally murdering a human being (who is begging to repent, I might add) is no different than stomping on a goomba.  Maybe the whole thing is for frat boys but I can't imagine even them with all their talk of no scopes and sweet headshots could play through this game without squirming.
 
Whether or not the game's production values are competent or not I frankly don't care about.  This game gets 1 star and I'm glad to have not played it.

Ha ha, I've felt that way a few times. Like, once beating something in a certain game, I imagined what if the power went out without a save or something else kills me. Ugh. Then what Jeff said, my friend plays a game and can't beat it, I'd feel that same way if I beat it the first time too.

Wow, that was an ordeal. It was like watching a robot slowly learn how to play chess, learning from it's mistakes. Excellent job guys, no review you write will be as good an example of what Dante's Inferno is like than this video feature shows.

Wow..the fact that it took you so long to beat this..is crazy. 
 
Plus all the obvious people who haven't played the game but doesn't hesitate to bash it.   
 
I didn't know that anyone could have a problem with this part. It's so easy.  
 
It's like you skipped all the relics and didn't talk to Virgil at all, because they're pretty hard to miss.  Not to mention, I don't think I ever saw you use magic. Especially the ice magic, you're pretty much invincible during these moves. 
 
I will be the first to admit that this level is dumb. The design is uninspired as hell, but this is just crazy. This is NOT that hard and "losing a night of sleep" to beat this is just..odd.  
 
I'm glad that you finally beat it, but you went through all this frustration for no reason. You had abilities that you didn't use and it obviously shows that it cost you a lot of time.

so this is the infamous part of the game that every review, and most (wont say all) gamers say...basically "what the fuck were they thinking". even geoff keighley twittered about it lol. Yup this would piss me off a lot too Ryan, or will when i eventually get it for like 20quid or something

this game has a horrible game design.  i still couldn't stand the room with the wind blowers and the enemies that freeze you; instant fall death.  also them not telling you that you can kick push items or letting you know that you have a wip to hang on falls.  it just keeps going. hell they still havn't fixed that greed glitch where switches won't activate.  yet, i really dug the final fight since those fmv where hella awesome.  plus you got to love how the "package" swings.  dude was hung.

Wow, I seriously sympathise with you on this - still wanting to check out the game but man, that seems harsh. Like a more frustrating version of the combat rooms in Batman: AA (I'd restart those manually if I got hit as I hated having my combo mulitplier...)

Ryan use the cross and nothing but the cross. also equip the relic that increases the window to combo by 3 seconds. Ryan you make me sad in my pants. Just give this horrible game a 2 star and be done with it.

Edit: Congrats, Ryan, I ended up with both fists in the air yelling "YEAH!" when you finally beat it. If it's this hard to watch, I can just imagine how it feels when you play the same 45 seconds for hours.

Not my type of game, will not even try to attempt it after seeing this.

I passed this in one go... there's a relic that increases the time it takes for the combo counter to reset, so if you didn't get that you screwed yourself.

This Challenge is the Worst EVER!!! But I am stuck at another point just after the challenges.
