For $7 I'm willing to gamble but then I again I just bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut for $5 so...yeah I'll gamble during the Steam Winter Sale.

I didn't like it at all. The idea of playing a deleted scene with commentary like you'd find on a DVD is cute, but it wasn't enough to hide the fact that I was playing something that was clearly never finished.

Writing a bunch of jokes about how bad your thing is doesn't suddenly make it good.

This dlc really wasn't too bad, could have been better, but from what I played and have seen of the SRTT dlc, this was better. The ending made it totally worthwhile, just wish the ending was a bit longer.

basically every good bit is in that trailer. I just finished it and got more out of the trailer showing highlights back to back than I did having them interrupted by ~gameplay~

@jakob187:

That's exactly how I felt on playing the Game of the year edition for Saints Row 3. It felt like all the DLC added to the game's wonderful craziness.

Well I tried playing this DLC and got pretty far into it but after defeating what I'm guessing is the final boss the game goes into an infinite load screen and I can't get past it, so I guess I'll never finish the DLC. Thanks Volition.

I... actually really liked this. I was hesitant since people have been complaining about its length (and previous Saints Row DLC has been pretty "meh") but I was pleasantly surprised. It was like a deleted scenes feature on a DVD, showing ideas that would have been a good fit for their originally imagined Dominatrix DLC but had to be cut when the game changed focus into Saints Row 4. How much of that stuff (particularly the ending) was actually planned is debatable. Still, I actually really enjoyed it.

I'm now a bit more cautiously optimistic for The Saints Save Christmas.

I think it took me just over an hour to complete. Maybe an hour and a half. It was nice to go back to the mindless mayhem after spending the last few weeks with GTAV, but I wouldn't recommend it for $7. And yeah, the dinosaur part was super brief. Blink and you'd miss it.

The season pass was $10 honestly, that seems like the best deal here when you're paying $7 per DLC. I'm going to wait until the Christmas DLC drops then play both at once.

This was way, way too short and easy, but the writing was definitely on point. I just sat in stunned silence (then proceeded to laugh my head off) at the dinosaur scene. All I could think was "this series used to be a GTA clone...".

Video won't work for me. In fact there's been a lot of trailers uploaded by Patrick specifically that just won't start, regardless of the video mode. I'm not intentionally trying to single out Patrick or anything either, it's just, well, videos uploaded by literally everyone else on here manage to work so... O.o

Anywhoo, while I can't watch the trailer, I can of course still read the comments... Sucks to hear it's roughly on par with the SRTT DLC. As in ridiculously short and kinda boring. Oh well, I have little desire to head back to SRIV's PS3 version anywhoo, so I'm OK in giving it a miss.

I really enjoyed the DLC solely with how it's presented. Having it be extremely meta with the characters essentially being actors and talking about the experience like it's commentary on a DVD. Also well written and damn funny, but it's really lacking gameplay wise. I wonder if it would've been as quick and easy if I weren't using my end game character, but the way it's set up it definitely feels like it's post-game content.

I gotta believe. No matter how many times I've been burned, I just can't shake the hope that that one will somehow come out of left field and get it right. How can you go wrong with a premise like that?

@jakob187: To answer your question: no...

Don't want this to sound as an attack on the DLC, but it is clear that its meant to be played entirely after you complete the game. The whole quest line is told as if it were commentaries on content left on the cutting room floor of some show. It is pretty meta, so everyone acts like actors from a movie, which collides with the main quest story. I don't think playing it during your first playthrough (or alternating quests with the campaign) is a good idea.

For everyone that is saying it's not that good, I mean...did you watch the trailer? Shaundi SAID "worst idea we ever had." Should've waited to find that out.

Volition and DLC don't seem to go well together. Even with Red Faction Guerrilla, the campaign DLC they did for that (which I can't remember the name of because it was that meaningless to me) wasn't very good.

However, I have a question for all of you who HAVE played the DLC: if this was just included in the game from the beginning, would you feel the same way about it? Here's what I mean: I played SR3 before AND after Full Package was available. When I played the DLC, I started a brand new game on PC (my original playthrough was on Xbox 360), and it all felt perfectly natural within the game itself. In turn, I never thought it was bad. It just felt like part of the game.

Is this something that would feel the same way?

Literally just sold the game yesterday. Oh well. I tried to go back to it after GTA and I couldn't. Different game I know but the mechanics are similar. The game was fun but I want the next Saints Row to go back to ridiculous gangster shit.

It's very short and easy. Also the missions are pretty boring. However it is HILARIOUS and if you're the kind of person who cares about homies, vehicles and clothing, that's great too. It's not the best DLC ever, but it's much better than the DLC from SR3. I don't regret my purchase.
