Seven Minutes Of Final Fantasy XIII

I really don't like FF at all but i can see why people would like it. But i always seem to buy one FF per console gen LOL just to check to see if i might like it . BTW english voices are very very cheesy

Looks awesome, voice acting isn't bad (although i would like a Jap voice track with sub titles), music sounds great and I will buy a PS3 for this even though I own a 360.  JRPGs are different and thats what i like.
If you don't like JRPGs then don't buy it !!!

This looks horrible. Absolutely horrible. The environments, the costume design, the character design... it's candied for sure, it's clean and clear. But there is 0 soul or emotion in any of this. It sounds like a 12 year old trying to be melodramatic, so it fails in both directions.  It's like watching a sap dripping spanish soap opera. Beyond that the design of any and everything is so convoluted for no reason but pageantry. It's arrogantly flawed because it's trying to be something WAY too complex, which becomes EXTREMELY gaudy. I can't focus on the worth of anything in this video because there's too much crap I have to see through in order to understand where the shit starts and where it ends.  The story line in this presentation(which lets hope its presented better in the full title) is just awkward. I can't stand these cheesy RPGs. They come across to me like Las Vegas. Full of lights and loud noises and weird awkward glutton driven actions that really do no one any good at the end of the day. I can't do it...it's just too plastic and too cutesy and too forced. Here's your role-playing game that doesn't have any characters you can relate to, care for, or even understand the actions of. Why did that chick jump out of that floating excuse for a 'hovering Liberace' aircraft? Why did the huge evil looking 'god?' who showed up during a spell turn into a car and then spray exhaust all over the boss? What the hell is with that? Sure, why don't we have one of the super fantabulous spells have a half sea-horse half-golf ball show up and chuck jelly donuts light on fire, but then the half golf ball sea horse turns into a book and the guy reads 43,000 hps off the enemy dragon, lacey, saw blade, neon veined, half pizza head, half crystal ball, 3,000 rockets out of it's toes, flaming hole in the middle of it's chest adorned with spines that shoot cheese sauce....man I'm not even gunna bother going on. I'll just summarize it like this:
 
It looks like an RPG where the Jonas Brothers are main characters saving Duran Duran from the grips of super ultra ridiculous mega tentacle MGS4 transformer worm enemies.
 
Seriously if you dig that stuff, more power to ya... but holy crap I feel like I need to brush my teeth after watching that.

I might be interested if they release it with a Japanese audio track + Subtitles cause MAN that's some weak ass voice acting.
Also is it just me or do most of the characters very little emotive qualities?

2) Why can't Square fucking learn how to cut a trailer to make it look.. I don't know... interesting?  No, not 7 minutes... not to a generic j-pop song throughout the whole thing.  Something that gets the point of what the plot is about, done.  Look at trailers like Dead Space, Force Unleashed, Prince of Persia: Two Thrones... Hell, I'm not a GTA fan but the Ballad of Gay Tony trailer is DRASTICALLY better than this.
 
3) Everything about this trailer, and the story they've presented, is exactly why I've given up on 90% of JRPGs.

Were all FFs this melodramatic?  I honestly dont remember anything like this from FFs before 10.

This trailer made me less interested in the game.

every other game in between now and the time this comes out is pure filler.

I think that people need to settle down about the english dub, it is not finished, there is not even a solid date for the U.S yet and I have to believe that the main reason is because they are perfecting the dub (and finishing the 360 port). Also, I have a feeling that they might have just thrown an english dub on this trailer and it is not actually from in the game, seeing how it is from TGS. And it really isn't that bad of a dub, not great, but passable, and certainly better than reading subtitles the whole game......
 
Be a little more optimistic, Square Enix usually doesn't put out games of poor quality and that includes the voice acting. You may not like their games but that isn't because of the quality.

My GOD, who could play this shit? Overwrought acting, incomprehensible fighting, music that makes you want to puke? Men that look like women? Ridiculous voice acting? It's like a fucking soap opera. What a waste of time.

at some points it was obvious that the lips didn't sync with the sound, but other times it fit really well. it's starting to look like more of a cross between FFX and FF12. I haven't played 12 so the battle sequence looks completely foreign, but i'm sure there are in-game tutorials and stuff. looks really good.

Perhaps the first Video Game Soap Opera. I can't wait!

Damn the english track is way better. The japanese one is hella emo IMO. Gonna get this for PS3 after seeing the quality of the cutscenes itl should look sick in bluray.

All I saw was a bunch of nonsense and melodrama.

The sound/emotion of the voices didn't match up with the animation in the body and face alot of times.  People are screaming but the facial expression looks like they're speaking at a regular level.  Stuff like that kills it for me.  Hopefully there is a jpn language track w/lip-syncing.  I bet the animations and tones of voice match up better on that one.

The storyline & presentation looks awesome, although i'm not a fan of the battle system. I hated FFX-2's battle system, everything just seemed too chaotic and it felt like it was more about chaining together combos than figuring out a strategy. (i didnt get far in that game so there's probably more depth) Well i'm gonna play it regardless, hopefully it'll ease you into it more than FFX-2 did.. and if not there's always the sexy cutscenes ;)

The acting and writing seems just as good or better then half of the crap on tv .  I'am curious to see how this turns out, tho mounting your summons looks wierd.

Dialogue seems pretty corny, but at least it looks cool. I'd like to see more gameplay though rather than just cutscenes, since that's what you'll be doing the majority of the time.

Not only is the writing shitty, the voice acting is even worse? Sounds like a bunch of leftover hippies wrote this shit. I really hope the game comes with a japanese track and English subtitles.
