Doesn't look that interesting, honestly. I remember seeing the TNT with it and it really wasn't that entertaining. Maybe it's an amazing game though!

Played the demo on 360. Seemed simplistic and overly easy. It's got a pretty neat visual style at least...?

The launch of this game was a complete mess. While progress transferred over from different devices (Windows 8, XBLA or phone) you had to buy each individual one rather than buy once, play anywhere. Worse still is that due to the certification process at MS, the updates are really delayed. When it launched on Windows Phone 8, the text and graphics for the game were all jagged making it a very ugly game as it was a port to higher res screen from lower res and this problem was only fixed recently when this game came out in January.

I'm just glad that this game is now coming to Steam so more people can enjoy it.

The first half of the campaign is indeed overly easy and simplistic. The second half is a lot of fun though.

I think I'd still rather play something like this on a handheld, might as well close the loop on the Advance Wars nostalgia cash-in, right? Also, re-releasing games a few months later with way more features always feels a little weird to me. I mean, I didn't buy the game, so whatever. But, this isn't too far off from punishing your early adopters (and biggest fans). Unless this extra stuff will be available for the other platforms.

Couldn't get into this watching the Quicklook for it. It's cool that it's not being locked down by the struggling MS Store requirement in Windows 8, but I still think I'll pass.

Such a good game but I seriously suck at it. I wonder if they'll patch the extra content into the Windows 8 version.

This was a really great game. It's a shame it came out at the worst possible time (right before Fire Emblem) and got ignored.

Yep, MS pretty much helped keep the company afloat for awhile in order to retain exclusivity and also make a version that works with the touch interface, delaying the game for possibly another year after when it was supposed to be already released.

No fire whoever made it such a shitty customer experience. Having to buy it on all 3 platforms separately for different prices. This was an amazing opportunity for Microsoft to have a dev success story for windows 8 and surface. If they had made a promotion "purchase it on xbox get access to it on windows 8 and windows phone" or something like that. It could have gotten some momentum behind it, sold some copies, and been the first dev to make X dollars on windows 8 store. A great headline. sadly it was left to die and now you get headlines like "Great game freed from windows 8".

That being said, I'm glad it's on steam now and I hope 17bit gets the sales this great game deserves. Also windows 8 is not that bad. It's basically the same as windows 7. Only old people really used the start menu to open programs.

Leave it to MS to try and squeeze every penny out of their customers.

If you like strategy games, this is an awesome example, with pretty entertaining dialogue and some downright awesome music. I have this on my Win 8 work laptop, but would totally buy this on Steam, especially if a soundtrack was included....hint hint.

I love how if something is exclusive to a platform you have it's OK but if it's on a platform you don't own and it makes the jump then it is "escaping".

Just show how out of touch some gamers are. How about we celebrate when games expand their availability? Plenty of games I want are Sony or iOS exclusives (platforms I can't engage in because I don't own the requisites hardware) but I don't get all indignant about it.

The only reason people are saying Skulls is "escaping" Win 8 is that it really sucked for PC users that they couldn't get access to the game because noone wants Windows 8.

Not really. They gave them some money to help pay the development(which they paid very late), but it was far from a sackful of money.

Exclusive deals for smaller developers are never really a sackful of money kind of thing. They are usually offered a lot of promotion and maybe some money for development, but not enough to get them rich.
