Skyrim Marathon - Part 01

I was really starting to fret for these, I felt like I'd missed something pretty major when I couldn't find them, plus I'm glad the uploaded version have taken a while to BE uploaded because now I played a lot of Skyrim and feel like Greg couldn't spoil much of my game.

If I see a spoiler coming then I'll stop the video, play my game until I've done that bit and come back and watch it from that point onwards.

Greg was my favorite at Gamespot. They were never able to replace him, or any of these ex GS guys.

When I pop into 3rd person (anytime even without weapons drawn) the camera is stuck in a superclose up behind the back angle. Anyone else have this problem and know to fix it?

Was this installed on the HD or not? Those textures are fugly! My copy's on its way, will probably need to not install it until the patch.

Yes, you can actually adjust the distance for the 3rd person camera. Hold down on the camera switch button and use the left stick to zoom in and out. It will stay fixed at that distance until you change it. You can also use that to rotate around your character out in the world while you're running or whatever.

I thought he was great. Playing and talking is hard, but keeping it going for twelve hours? And keeping it relevant and interesting? Quite impressive.

For one, you live up to your name. Two, Greg doing this is the entire point of this marathon. They wouldn't have done it if it wasn't him playing. The staff think he's hilarious, and I tend to agree. Not everything is for everyone though.

Pretty cool it's free. Was really hoping they would since these are such good videos, and of such a good game.

I loved Greg's facial expression while he was lockpicking... that's probably what we all look like while playing this game.

I'm calling it like I saw it. It reminded me of sitting down with a nephew and saying "Hey show me this great new game you got and tell me why you love it." which always starts off good but degenerates into babbling and "I like turtles" styled comments. I guess I walked in during one of those parts. As another pointed out, maybe if I would have seen the whole thing in it's entirety it would be much better but I honestly didn't have the time for that so first impressions meant everything when it came to holding my attention.

Well you entirely missed the point and I can't disagree with you enough; Greg is awesome and so is this 12 hour marathon/commentary. Sorry, but I really hope your opinion is in the minority since I love this kind of thing.

i watched about 10 of the 12 hours live but 12 hours of Greg Kasavin is still not enough

I love that Greg always plays as an Orc

So...after an hour of running around he literately went around in a circle. Nice. I really want this game!

I don't know for certain, but I'm pretty sure it's installed. It would make sense for them to take the 10 minutes to install it to save a lot of time on loading. When you do get it, don't install it. For me, I did and played many hours, so it's easier to handle the low textures than it is for the loading times to basically quadruple. Going in fresh, the loading won't seem as bad and it will look a LOT better.

Now that I have a experienced a bunch of Skyrim myself I want to see Greg's experience.

I'm so glad this is archived. I watched the entire thing live and somehow I feel compelled to watch it all over again. To me, Greg still has it.

The marathon was exceptional live. I'll watch some of this again now that it's being posted.

yeah the quality on there isn't great the audio for the game also cuts out a lot as well, that's not to say i don't like listening to Greg i do but it's also nice hear him slaughter wolves etc.

Played almost 100 hours of Installed Skyrim, couldn't care less about texture issues. Rage didn't bother me either.

Anyway, this is like my third time watching Greg's marathon. First time in HD though. :)

Man. When I played the start, I totally didn't notice that who you go with into the keep is an Imperial/Stormcloak decision. I randomly went with the Stormcloaks. Happy with that.
