I've been catching up on content and finally got around to this. I really liked it and I hope you get the chance to put out more stuff like this in the future. That said, it was kind of weird seeing a well-produced video of the Xbone's systems without the obligatory sales-pitch-y schtick.

I liked the tone of this alot, good music and a little more polished than the traditional videos on the site. Would like to see you go through the Wii U controller next.

I almost missed this is if wasn't for today's announcement. Well done and even better I plan on stealing some parts of the format for my own reviews when it comes to comparing action camera tech.

This was great and a perfect feature for you, Patrick. I have often thought to myself, with my own writing, how inaccessible it can be to just the casual observer. I think writing for video somewhat forces you to write your thoughts in a more entertaining way, which I think is also good to apply backwards to written features. It is super easy to get a little too self-serious with purely written features. Anyway, I wrote this because you said to comment if I would like to see more; I do.

I definitely want to see more stuff like this! The length of this video was just right, but I think you could get away with 10-15 minutes on other topics, if you needed the time. Good stuff.

wow I'm surprised at how reasonable the comments are for this. I expected alot of people being really negative and yelling at each other. I guess you just can't deny that kinect is bad. Or rather operating computers with your voice is bad across the board and kinect is a good way to illustrate that.

First of all, yeah the music. I thought some tab was open somewhere.

Second, you kind of hit on the most depressing thing about the One- I expected this sort of jank from Gen1 Kinect but expected it to be smooth on the One. You know, what they said it would be.

This video cut to the chase in an intelligent format that I enjoyed watching. I would love to see this same format applied to the PS4 controller trackpad. +1

I'll throw my hat in for more coverage in this style, and as a secondary request ask that every GB video in the future be scored with some sweet fucking jazz (and, if possible, edit it into all past content).

Using video to convey the points about Microsoft's current voice technology is a brilliant idea, and did way more to help those of us who don't have an Xbox One to understand why there are both good and bad aspects to the implementation. Great job! I really enjoyed the editing as well. Definitely would love to see more like this in the future!

A lack of Netflix integration also makes the Amazon Fire TV's voice recognition next to worthless.

It has really good voice recognition, it works a lot better in part because the microphone is in the remote, it doesn't need insane technology to pick you up from across the room, and you don't have to address it, it only listens while you hold down the button. But without Netflix integrated it makes the whole thing just lame.

So many comments! I would also love to see more stuff like this on the site, @patrickklepek.

So, the Kinect is, for the most part, meh. Hopefully stuff like this will just continue to get better over time. I really have no use for it on my gaming system, but there are many other applications for it.

Nice video, more of those.

Come to think of it, considering most non-gaming related features of the Xbox One don't work for the majority of customers, may it be because they don't use cable, or set-top boxes, or because there's no netflix services and the likes, it would be pretty awesome if Microsoft releases an Xbox One without all that bloat in the said regions at a cheaper price. Removing the set-top box ability (which again is pretty useless in the majority of Europe) would probably reduce the cost of the console, because right now of the 101 features of the Xbox One, only one (nice pun there) works for me, and that's playing games.

Smooth Jazz made this video @patrickklepek.

I still think Kinect is super clumsy and dumb. The only time it's faster to use voice then it is a controller is when you want to jump from one app straight into another. So if you're in a game and you want to jump to settings, saying "Xbox go to settings" could potentially be faster then pressing the home button, navigating to settings and then pressing A. This is all assuming that the Xbox even hears you which I feel like it often doesn't on the first try.
