Some Stuff About Lollipop Chainsaw's Music

That thumbnail has nothing to do with music production, I admit.

Looking forward to seeing how this game turns out. Really enjoyed Shadows of the Damned last year.

Posted by cavemantom

CheapyD told me Suda is a dick.

"Skrillex"

Well I'm out.

Posted by joshthebear

GODDAMN I NEED THIS GAME!

Posted by lemonadesweetheart

Yeah, name-dropping Skrillex (and to a lesser extent Sleigh Bells, but whatever) did that dude no favors in my eyes.

I have a decent amount of faith in Grasshopper and Yamaoka, but I'm still kinda iffy on Lollipop Chainsaw.

I was hoping for Knife Party.

Posted by DonutFever

I'm liking the look of the Boss Fights. It's Suda's Scott Pilgrim.

Posted by onimonkii

gonna be interesting to see how this turns out, i've always liked jimmy's production but it's never been as "serious" as for a videogame before

Edited by Vortextk

I don't think this will sell well. I think critically this will be ok. I think I'll love it. But I'm fucking glad WB seems to be actually giving a shit about this game and these guys, unlike perhaps the last Suda and grasshopper effort and it's publisher.

Wow and the beginning of the song for the hippy guitarist sounds amazing.

Edited by Heartagram

Yeah...I figured there'd be trolly comments after seeing Jimmy from Mindless Self Indulgence.

I personally enjoy both MSI and Akira's music so this has just made me even more excited for the game I was most excited about this year. God I love SUDA.

Let's hate because someone is popular is the trend in the game community so I get it. It's just annoying as hell.

Jimmy Urine and Yamaoka is maybe the greatest combination in the history of our sport.

Posted by Itwastuesday

Man. I don't know.

Posted by Feigr

Oh man, metal viking zombie!

Posted by ckeats

@cavemantom: He told me too. They also claim Schafer is a dick. Lots of dicks around video games, who'd have though?

Posted by damswedon

Toy Dolls?

I'm sold.

Posted by Zleunamme

Maybe Warner Brothers will do a better job marketing the game then EA did for Shadows of The Dammed. I'm sold of the game being over-the-top and crazy.

Edited by MeatSim

Sleigh Bells? okay I am on board with this soundtrack.

Posted by Phatmac

Looks promising. It'll certainly be crazy, that's for sure.

Posted by tourgen

huh. pretty cool video. I'm interested.

Posted by CrystaljDesign

It was really surreal seeing Jimmy not wearing a pink tu tu and screaming obscenities.

Posted by radioactivez0r

I have no idea who that dude is. I think that makes me less "old" and just more "not giving a shit about what people are listening to right now."

Posted by GirlsGeneration

Nice i can't wait for this game!

Posted by darkvare

sadly there's nothing cult and undergound about zombies and chansaws anymore

Posted by MuddyDonut

They probably should have just let Yamaoka do the talking, the other guy made me concerned for the soundtrack.

Posted by Abendlaender

If I had to describe the game in three words they would probably be "Lollipop Chainsaw Massacre" because I think that sums it up nicely

Posted by phatcat

MSI's Jimmy Urin? RAD!

I'm in.

Edited by sickVisionz

None of the music in this video seemed particularly good to me. I was hoping it would be J-pop like Bayonetta or techno-pop like what Teddyloid did for Panty & Stocking.

Edited by patrick

Skrillex and Buckner & Garcia on the same soundtrack?

The world is not ready.

Posted by Zaxex

I don't know much about the actual game itself but you bring: the developers of Shadows of the Damned, the man behind the Silent Hill music and Jimmy Urine together in a one thing and I'm interested to say the least.

If the music's nearly as good as I'm hoping, it might be worth playing through the game for it's atmosphere alone, or at least checking out the soundtrack.

As I said I don't know about the game but I'm getting a Japanese Brutal Legend vibe from it.

Posted by DS23

If they launched this at $40 I'd be in day one. Suda's games always run on the short side.

Posted by geirr

For all their talk, it doesn't sound all that special in the background but I do love Yamaoka and Jimmy sure can remix so it should be good.

Posted by Paulrus

Jimmy's kinda chilled in this video... not sure what to think of that.

Posted by Riboflavin

Fuck yes Jimmy Urine, I love me some good MSI. I knew about that already, hearing abut some of the other stuff like Sleigh Bells is even better.

I can only hope the combat of this game lives up to my hopes. I'm hoping for a Bayonetta clone or better. Bayonetta did character action better than any game to date.

Posted by onimonkii

here's the theme song for jimmy's character, zed

for anyone who is curious.

Posted by katsu044

i feel stupid for not remembering how good the Music is in the Suda51 games but i'd rather not want it get touched by dubstep but who knows it could be *good* dubstep.

Suda *and* MSI? Yeah, okay, I'm on board.

Posted by Fracture

OK Japan, we get it. You guys really liked the music of the 80's when you discovered that it existed in the mid 90's. Any chance you can move on? There's been like 2 decades of stuff since you guys fell down that 80's rabbit hole.

At its best, PlanetSide 1 is one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. At its worst, it can be quite frustrating. PlanetSide 2 doesn't (thankfully) seem to be a dramatic shift away from the first game. Rather, it looks like they will attempt to improve upon everything that made the first game a fun experience. I, for one, am rooting for them and hope they succeed.

Posted by DeXterminator

I was looking forward to playing this game. Little Jimmy URINE totally turned me off. What a dick.

Posted by Wampa1

I enjoy MSI in a guilty pleasure kind of way, whereas I just love Akira's work. Hope Jimmy's stuff doesnt overshadow the rest of the score.

Posted by Hass

I want this on PC.

And I want this made into a film!

I think, I want it even more made into

a film, then I want to able to play it on PC.

Posted by Xymox

interesting.

Posted by LooseChange

Viking metal? There better be some goddamn Amon Amarth.

Posted by Fasckira

@lemonadesweetheart: I wouldn't have said Jimmy from MSI needs to name drop...

Anywho, this game looks ace, wasn't aware it was so themed around music though which adds to ace-tastic-ness for me.

Posted by AlexanderSheen

What the hell is MSI? Windows Installer?

Posted by Ozone

It's not mentioned in the video, but Jerry Buckner and I totally licensed "Pac-Man Fever" for the soundtrack. I'm terrified/excited to see how Suda is going to use it.
