So wait, is it Soul Calibur or Soulcalibur?  I was always under the impression that it was Soul Calibur.  This seems like when Mega Man started going by Megaman but it was suppose to still be Mega Man.  Weird.

Uh, HEIHACHI is hella awesome.

In and of himself, yeah, he's pretty cool. But he felt really out of place in a weapons-based fighting game. Although I guess you could say "but his fists are just so dang powerful they ARE his weapons!" but that sounds like a silly action movie cliche :P

Spawn was DUMB, and yes, I would've said the his FISTS are that dang powerful. The man got blown up from a temple and was blown hundreds of miles into a cemetery and still survived for crying out loud...and that he was a character from another Namco fighting game since Yoshimitsu was already in Soul Calibur as part of the main roster.

The important question everyone should be asking....where is Raphael? And does he have his goatee back?

@Sasran: Taki was great. So were Sophitia and Cassandra. Replacing them with these kiddy versions of themselves is a terrible idea, especially that Natsu girl, who just looks like some kind of mutant.

Really not happy with any of the design choices in this game. SC 3 and 4 were terrible games and this seems to be going even further in the wrong direction.

The first Soul Calibur is the only Soul Calibur.

I've never understood the appeal for the Soul Caliber games. Any of them in fact, and well this doesn't do anything for me either. If your in to these then great! More Soul Caliber for you?

as much as this looks just like "another" SC game, and as much as i dont really like the look of any of the new characters, or the direction they are going with the game, im so buying this.... i know, i'm part of the problem

Was Tira's name called out in the beginning? I really hope she's in the game, or at least someone with her fighting style, because I kick major ass with that ring sword.

I hate Ivy and I hate that they used her as a headlining character in this trailer. At least it seems they got rid of Taki. Sophitia was pretty bad too, right? (I can't remember all of them) Hell, I barely liked any of the characters in SC IV and the ones I liked aesthetically I cared not for their fighting styles. Character creation did remedy that a bit.

No, that's Ivy. Looks like Taki is being replaced with someone new, though.

Create your own character is a big selling point for me.

I'm hoping Create-a-soul mode will be much better this time around. It was so much better in SC3.

Taki will always be the 1 for me

Obviously there has been a change in management if they are claiming that Ivy is in this game, but is wearing clothes.

Seriously though the series didn't change much after II which I agree was the peak of the series. There's just nothing that matters in the later Soul Calibur games to make them compelling fighting games. Like others I don't know what the solution is but hopefully it's not more licensed characters and big boobs.

Oh thank God. I'm so glad they downsized Ivy's boobs, it was actually embarrassing to play the game whenever someone selected her.

Other than 2 I've never really enjoyed SC but I've always loved the music.

Looks totally forgettable, just like every other SC game since the first.

I read the video title as Soul Calibur Vs Comic-con. 
 
I think that would make a much better game. Just watching Ivy mess up some nerds in  Stormtrooper costumes.

I hope this is better than 4. I wanted to like it so much but the combat just didn't feel very tight to me. It felt so clunky and I feel like I won most of my fights out of sheer luck then any skill. I played online and was only level 1 and I beat someone at level 50 with a custom character while I used a stock Talim.
