South Park: The Stick of Truth Has Officially Gone Gold

Getting to walk around in the South Park world, just that in itself has me so excited. I love that their design goal was to make viewers think they're watching an episode.

I'm really looking forward to the South Park game. The Movie was hilarious, and I think this game will be hilarious, too.

Every time I see Trey Parker on film he looks more and more like Randy Marsh.

I was thinking about the proximity to Dark Souls 2, I think there's room for both in my schedule. When DS2 makes me frustrated, I will probably want to laugh (cue South Park).

Well at least we know the humour will be spot on. However as the past has taught us I won't get excited until the game is actually in my hands or GB does a positive looking quick look.

We've all been burned too many times by positive looking trailers for games that turn out shit.

I guess my deadline for finishing Bravely Default is officially the entire month of March with this and DS2 especially.

All I can say is, thats a fucking beard.

I hate to be 'that guy', but this video isn't new nor was it just released to coincide with this game going gold. This video was up at least a couple weeks ago on Kotaku.

I can't find the thing, but I'm fairly sure I've seen a longer interview with the matt and trey parts before that even. They were talking about going out and getting in touch with devs, dudes talking about going to south park studios to learn how to animate stuff in the authentic crappy way, the technical difficulties of getting something that looks like 12 frames per second in a 60fps video game, stuff like that.

It's a shame I can't find it anymore, I'm starting to think I just imagined the whole thing.

I love everything about this except for the price tag. Why is it $59.99 if they didn't involve publishers from the get-go? Every day I launch Steam I just shrug at the South Park pre-order, and I'm a hardcore South Park fan.

I just hope that Matt and Trey don't overstep their bounds and screw up what should be another fantastic RPG from Obsidian.
