Last nights Spookin with Scoops was awesome Patrick. Really crazy hearing you talk to yourself out loud deciphering the puzzle around surviving the first three days. You planning on revisiting this game for future Spookin with Scoops and beating the last two days?

They really aren't but that's beside the point. I think when they start throwing things at you that makes you question what you think was going to happen or what you already know is when it gets scary. Like when that Coyote Robot started bum rushing at Patrick full speed was when it got intense cause it was so unexpected.

At that point I did the whole "scream at tv to close the door" even though nobody was an ear shot around me.

Same, which really is awful as I love watching him get freaked out. For some reason I can watch any other GB content or streams no problem on HD, but 2 weeks in a row I've had to wait on the archive due to issues with Patrick's stream.

I'm sorry you're having trouble! Make sure you have the livestream set to "SD," which actually outputs an HD stream. The reason for that is because Twitch and other services require one stream, and the service then degrades that stream so people can watch it at lower quality levels. With our new video system, we have to spit out both an HD and SD stream separately. I'm unable to do that from home. Wish I could do more!

I will have to try that next time, but at least you get the archives up pretty quickly for those of us that can't watch live!

Question: Are you going to be doing anything with Alien: Isolation when it comes out? I am very curious about that game and forgot it was coming out in October.

@patrickklepek: There's no difference for me when I switch HD/SD. But it's all good. I'll just archive it up.

I love Patrick! Even when he makes silly mistakes in video descriptions like "Final Frame 2", that's hilarious. Also is there a list somewhere of every game that has been featured in spooking?

Alas I haven't heard the audio yet, but from pure reaction shot I'd say it's a toss-up maybe with Kish as the slightly better one. Patricks loss of balance right at the end is fucking priceless, but Marys 'round-mouth' expression as she prepares for the jumpscare takes the cake. Can't wait to watch both of these now.

Five Nights at Freddy's looks pretty cool, especially despite it being as low tech as it is. But I refuse to play it, as I currently work a night shift, and fuck that.

@rhombus_of_terror: Yes, he started a new game of FF2 after P.T. last time. So this week was a continuation of that playthrough.

@patrickklepek: I've missed the last two segments of Spookin' With Scoops live due to managing the community DOTA 2 tournament, and it's been killing me!

As much as I love watching this in the video-format, it just isn't the same thing as attending the show itself. I like to imagine chat as hiding beneath the bed or in the closet, watching you freak out and giggling in glee each time you jump, leeching off your fear. It's a guilty pleasure, but boy, what a pleasure.

Also, I'd really recommend the Dark Souls 2 DLCs to you. The areas are considerably more polished and imaginative than the actual game. I'd go as far as to say that it's some of the best content the entire souls series has to offer.

Five Nights at Freddy's seems actually pretty good?

Definitely low tech, definitely a silly premise and definitely some 90's era pre-renders that is banking on jump scares but kind of alright.

You sold me on Five Nights at Freddy's, Patrick. I don't normally watch Spookin' but I wanted to know what FNAF was about. Picking it up even though horror games aren't my thing, I definitely feel the idea of a horror game that distracts you with so much other stuff to deal with so that the scary stuff always gets you is a fantastic idea. Have you checked to see if there's hotkeys? Those might help if you accidentally trigger Running Foxy and need to proverbially slam your fist into the door button.

The writing in five nights at freddy's is just self-aware enough to very humorous. Like on the 3rd night when the phone call says "most people dont last this long...well you know, i mean they move on to other things, I dont meant to imply that they die..." its the perfect balance between deep instinctual horror and corny comedy that horror media needs to be very effective.
