It's actually 2 (Silent Assassin),3 (Contracts) and 4 (Blood Money, which already came out in HD) so it's not actually the first 3 games.

But then again the 1st one was kinda crummy, so it doesn't really matter.

Well, I should hope these games are in an HD collection for the first time.

Be rather redundant to put out two identical HD collections, don't you think?

So, finally an opportunity to get contracts on PC again? Its been a long time since i played it on the PS2. Supposedly its been gone for so long because the license on a song used in one of the bars ran out, and rather than remove the song they just stopped selling the game.

edit: wait, trailer only shows boxart for consoles, no PC release then? I guess all the games are already "HD" on PCs, doesn't look like they have increased the texture quality, but would have been nice to get contracts again.

Do one of these games have the sauna thing where you can shoot out the bottom and the people will get sucked through it? Because if not, no sale.

Yeah I've heard that too. I am really interested to find out what they changed the song to. Yeah, I am sad.

I got a fresh idea, lets remake all that old stuff but in hd! No one suspects the spanish inquisitio... errr I mean the HD remake.

I've always found it odd that the Hitman Collection on Steam was the first, second, and fourth games. Now this HD collection is the second, third, and fourth games. It's nice that Contracts is legally available again though.

The Hitman theme is so triumphant for a guy that kills people for a living.

because neither of those things are usually improved, aside from the resolution bump

It doesn't look improved. I finished off Blood Money a few months ago. Turn on 16x anisotropic filtering and morphological AA, and it looks the same as this trailer. Maybe it actually looks better when you play, but this trailer did not.

When I read Alex description for this video I hear Dusty Rhodes voice lol.

I fail to see the "HD" here. And even if they are HD, no amount if graphical polish can save the gameplay of the first Hitman game.

I think I'll bite. I've always wanted to get into the Hitman series

I believe they're not including the first game because it was only on PC. That and I think Contracts is pretty much a re-make of most of the levels from it too.

Did you watch it? I saw MAYBE 20 seconds of the second and 3rd games, then back to Blood Money. I was pretty dumbfounded...

I really love the effort put into the cover, it's not the typical "let's scale down the covers from the games in the collection and fit them together" cover. Awesome stuff.

Can't wait to play through that Hotel mission in Contracts. Had so much fun replaying that mission over and over.

Hopefully this does well enough to remind IOI how to effectively use the IP. Absolution was a disaster

This could have been interesting for me if they had actually put some work into making the older games look more like Blood Money. At least, improving the textures and characters models.

Improved is a stretch, in this case it looks like they put high gloss paint over the old textures.

@Yummylee: That's one of my favorite hitman levels of all time. It's actually a remake of the same level in Hitman 1, but it's great in both.

Also if you even have a 3~ year old mid range PC you can run all these games fine and get them for cheaper from Steam. It seems like they didn't do any graphical improvements other than bump up the resolution.

THAT is a soundtrack; sucks your new game doesnt have Jesper Kyd. Big mistake. 

@m16mojo2: I don't know why you'd expect them to use much video from the older games, they look awful compared to Blood Money. You shouldn't treat it as them trying to imply the old games are terrible, they're just using the content that looks best in video

I don't know about mistake, he was probably busy composing for Borderlands 2 and Darksiders II ... throwing yet another game into the mix may have been a bit much for one guy. That's probably the same reason (at least partially) why he didn't compose Assassin's Creed III after scoring all previous games. I bet IO would've loved to have Kyd come back since they basically broke into the industry together.

Well, all they're selling is an HD version for consoles. In that scenario, they are improved since the old games weren't in HD (aside from the 360 port of Blood Money). Their "for the first time in one HD package" line is a bit silly though since they've been selling all FOUR (!) games in one package (Hitman Ultimate Contracts) on PC for many many years.

Why no Hitman 1?

Yeah, the old games don't look much/any better than they used to, but do they really in any of these "HD" collections of previous gen games? I'm really asking because I haven't played any of them. Did the Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter, DMC, Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, MGS, Silent Hill, Z.O.E. or ICO/SotC collections look markedly better? All of them claim to be "HD" or "remastered for HD" as well.

@Microshock: yea nothing bad about that. i wont be picking this up though, still havent tried out the new hitman yet....

I will end up getting it eventually. Even tho I have all the games on PC, I've separated my gaming from it and use it for work only. Plus it won't hurt my trophy count and at $30 it won't hurt my wallet when I hit the dog days of nothing else to play.

Good trailer - very 90s. Surprised to see some actual effort put into the boxart and bonus shit, too. Very nice!
