@thiago123: In fairness, Gene Roddenberry was sort of a huge pain in the ass when it came to developing the Star Trek canon. He consistently held writers back.

There's nothing wrong with liking only TNG. Just own that you pretty much only like TNG.

Years later, I applaud your persistence in telling people that they are enjoying things wrong. Did you let Gene Roddenberry's family know that he was also not a real Star Trek fan for not establishing more continuity in original Trek?

In the ship customization or the character sheet for the ship you can rename it as well as renumber it. Liked in STO that there are some merchant ships you can buy things from instead of escorting them, hoping this stays in the retail game as it's better than running to vendor to buy something.  Agreed with everyone in this QL, once I got the cruiser I had a turret in the back as well as rear photon launcher & helped out tons in battle. Only fast travel I saw was in the powers list that had a transwarp to the starbase, aside from that Jeff seems to be right in flying lots in the warp space. "

You have to rank up to Lt. Commander (Rank 11 I believe) before you can get one of the bigger ships.

Sometimes it's like: 
Captain Ryan Davis gives the orders, 
First Officer Gerstmann provides the strategy and insight, 
Lieutenant Shoemaker drives the ship. 
 
I wish you guys would do more, say, after the beta! After all, Brad and Ryan will have their lifetime subscriptions too!

Dude. you are level 5 in an MMO, dont expect to be able to buy ship parts/gear and/or win a battleground. 
Its actually kinda refreshing to see a person such as brad whos playing this game like it were a casual RPG. Dude. its an MMO. Give it another 150 hours and check back on those ship parts.

I always thought stars were just planets/suns/galaxies way off in the distance, but apparently in star trek you can drive right by them and they are just small bright specs

These STO quicklooks aren't as fun when Ryan is backseat driving the whole time.
 
All it does is expose how f'ing slow Brad is. Atleast with Vinny and Dave we are distracted from the plodding pace.

Dammit, Brad is so easily distracted, it's so annoying. :D

I noticed Seaman has his skills spread pretty much even across all skills, is this the right way?   I've been just dumping to energy weapons for space and turents for ground. BTW, I'm an engineer.
 
 Also, give the Seaman two weapons one with an AOE stun and a sniper.  Then when about to take on a non-warrior or non-brute e.g. a swordman you can attempt to stun him till that spinning red circle shows up, then pop him with the sniper shot, easy kill.  No need to take down the shields and armor.
