Star Wars: Attack Squadrons Could Maybe, Potentially, Possibly Be Cool

Im just, so tired of Star Wars. The music, the sound effects... so so tired.

As far as single-seat spaceship designs go I'm really fond of the X-wing's design. One of few things I still like about Star Wars.

That video sure does show me a lot! I now know there will be space! But honestly I don't have very much hope for this, I will save my hope for the new Battlefront DICE is working on.

I liked both, but sure, first person cockpit view space shooters are always preferable.

Rogue Squadron II has, bar none, the best first person sci fi cockpits in the history of games.

I didn't even know there was a sequel, I only played the N64 game! But, yeah, looking at a gameplay video, that does seem pretty neat. Not sure I'd put it above Independence War, Inferno: The Odyssey Continues or Wing Commander 3 though.

Yeaaaaah those are pretty cool too. Man, I love space cockpits. One of my favourite things about the view in Rogue Squadron II is that you can look around inside your cockpit. I don't think it's unheard of in other games but it's a cool feature, especially since they are so detailed. And the way the targeting computer comes down is cool too. It's too bad you're a bodiless pilot though.

I wonder what the chances are that this new game has a cockpit view? I hope they do.

This game will have tons of people play it for a year and then collectively realize, "Holy crap! I dropped $800 on ship skins in this game over the course of a year and it's not even as fun as Rogue Squadron 2! I hate myself."

Why does this trailer look like total hot garbage? You put the words "Star Wars" and "Squadron" in a title and you immediately have my attention, but why did they release a trailer that looks like it was made in 2002 by an eighth grader who just pirated his first copy of Blender?

Damn it , just give me another X-Wing vs Tie Fighter! Not these arcade shooters. Bring back the Star Wars space combat sim. You'd think with the revival of the genre starting (hopefully) with Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous, they would want to cash in.
