Straight From Japan, Here's Resident Evil 4 in HD

I forgot the RE games are called Biohazard in Japan.

@blacklab: because a crappy band from the 90's had rights to it in the states at the time and Capcom USA didn't want to deal with it. At least that's what I recall.

I bought this game twice already and haven't beaten it once... never again... *never*.

I wonder why they didn't just call it Biohazard in the states.

So was that saying August 9th? or September 8th? lol don't know if they do things backwards with dates over there! lol

So the PS3 etc cant even pull off remakes in 1080p! 

What was the last COD about 540p upscaled to 720p or something? I think PS4 and Xbox 720 are way behind schedule!

After the RE 4 and 5 Survivor mode release, this just makes me think Capcom is out of ideas: They took one part of existing games and sold it as if it were a game on its own and now they made existing games look brighter, which is not HD... (not that it matters because I don't have an HD TV.) If Capcom wants to milk its back catalog, then it should do what they did to RE 1 and remake RE 2, 3 and CVX and sell them together as one pack for 40$ or 50$ I'd buy that because I got into the (pardon the pun) game late and never played those three games and to do so now would suck because they look and play so outdatedly. (By play, I'm referring to the old "tank" controls which I found so disconcerting in REmake.)

Maybe this "HD" cash-grab is worth it to those who haven't played the games, but I'll pass.

Super excited for RE5 I never finished it cause my little brother erased my save.

Capcom makes the best Resident Evil game with Resident Evil 4 and just can't let it go. They keep milking that game for all it's worth.

I really can't be bothered paying for yet another version of RE4. I have completed that game on both the Gamecube and the Wii so the idea of going through again bores the crap out of me. It's a good idea for a lot of people who haven't played it before but I really doubt there is many of them left out there.

If people keep buying this game they will just keep on making it for more things and hold re6 even longer. So do not buy this if you already own it. Stop letting capcom trick you in to buying the same games over again. 

WTF, this is not HD at all...

what a shame, the games just look less fuzzy. all they did was throw some AA over these games, brighten them up a bit and called it a day. well i guess I can skip buying this now.

Fcuk me but jebus! they are re-releasing a game with HD tagged onto it...the modded RE4 PC version looks HD this doesn't hold a CANDLE.

I'll probably end up with this version anyway but the Wii Version of RE4 will always be the best. At least to me.

Hahaha, these Resident Evil releases never end. Capcom just keeps releasing them again and again.

Love that on the all of the sites this video has been on, the headline declines to mention that CVX is in package too.

I really don't see a huge difference here, sharper but still pretty much the same, but what can one expect.

I'd rather put RE4 into Dolphin and go 1080p but it still won't change the fact that I've played it, to death, and beyond! As for Veronica, I'd love to play that one over again but they'd have to remake it at this point. It looked too "clean" back then and with HD it'll likely look even more clean.. as if someone had vacuumed all the areas meticulously just before you arrive.

After the wii version, this is more of a downgrade.

This re-release is just going to make me replay 4 again for Wii, instead of buy the kind of done up download version.

Already own RE4 on the GameCube and my roommates own both the Wii version of RE4 and Code Veronica for GC but - I'd still buy this. I'm a resolution whore, so sue me.

I liked RE4 on the Wii...maybe the Move controller will translate well with this HD version.

I don't think HD is helping Code Veronica much, but RE4 looks swell.

OMG OMG OMG, caNNOT wait!

I played the shit out of RE4 on several different times. On GC and PS2 but by the time the Wii version came around I ran out of steam for enduring it in lengthy play sessions. 
 
The Wii version certainly handled best but I couldn't bring myself to unlock every damn thing in the game for a 3rd time. 
 
Its been a good while but seeing it in HD is like "Hey! I totally remember how that is completely how I remember it being!" I guess if I get a strong nostalgic urge or something then... uhh maybe.

There's only one version for me and that was the PS2 version even though everyone says it's slightly inferior to the GCN version.

It was the best thing on the Wii (except maybe Galaxy) but it looks like they just ran the old footage through a make-look-crappy filter for this trailer. Like those trailers for Blu-Ray you get on DVD's. Or the HD ads on regular digital TV.  Misleading marketing bullshit.

Do you think this is Capcom's way if setting up RE6, with a return to a Claire and Leon story? Makes sense as RE2 is still the highest selling and most demanded in the series. Also Operation - Raccoon City is set in that era.

I'm with solh0und. Too many playthroughs of RE4 to ever go back to it now. However I suspect this will be a big draw for those who've never played it but want to.

Hmm, up-res'd or not, looks like the Wii version of RE:4 is still the best one.
