Haters better recognise, Patrick asked some great questions in this interview. I would have loved to have seen more of the crew in for the interview as well, but Ryan and Patrick did a great job.

Really hard to see the point of doing this interview on video. It's only 6 minutes long and they questions and answers weren't terribly interesting, plus you can hardly understand the translator, they might aswell have put it on the site as a written interview.

@Heimdal: I don't know. Seems nearly all the stories Patrick puts up become a place to post that others dislike Patrick so much. It's really tiring and I'm beginning to dislike the community because of it. Giantbomb used to make me glad to be a gamer and I enjoyed visiting the site, but the cynicism around him really is too much. What ever happened to civil discourse and/or not posting or giving his articles the views. If you don't like it, don't click on it and post.

Poor choice of words. I meant then when the endurance run happened.

@Jace: At first I thought they were just dubbing it in Japanese on top of Japanese. It's not so bad once you tune to it and focus a bit but I bet it's pretty bad for native English speakers.

This is only from looking at the first page of your user page. Let me ask you this: why are you even visiting this website? Why even bother to comment on the content? You obviously have serious issues with the crew, especially Patrick, and frankly I'm getting extremely tired of users like you who do nothing but bring childish anger and 'waaah, waaah' here.

The translator is probably harder to understand than SWERTY's broken English. =(

It's Swery, not Swerty. It's not like he screwed up spelling 'qwerty'. Sure, the translator isn't a native speaker, but he's plenty understandable.

I'm always weirded out by these kind of translated interviews. I get that it's translated in post (obviously), but how is the interview set up? Swery clearly knows what the questions are prior to them asking, so there's a script/question list both parties are away of, but does the crew have any idea what he's saying, or is it all in service of the interview? Has he prepared an 'answer' script that they're aware of, or do they even care to know (in the moment), since they're not asking questions that reply to answers? It makes sense and looks natural in post-production, but an interview you don't understand must feel awkward - you're asking questions but don't understand the answers.

Did they use the same voice actors for the previously text only scenes/new scenes in The Director's Cut?

Some of the game-play trailers sounded a bit...off. Maybe it was just a new/different recording environment.

@Cincaid: It's the internet and people just love that free-roam ability to whiiiiiine and cryyyyyy and mooooan about everything. Especially about things they'll never be able to change because it's not their fucking website and they have no say over who is on staff, Quick Looks, interviews, and features. Too bad for them, I suppose. Must suck to be that god damn miserable all the time over things they're never going to influence.

Also, SWERY is the best. One of the most genuinely excited and in-touch with the fans Japanese developers I've ever seen.

You guys know Patrick has played and enjoyed Deadly Premonition, right? I remember when it was making the rounds on the internet for video game critics he was on a podcast with Adam Sessler and they talked about it for like 20 minutes or something.

Anywho, fun interview, although I'm not sure the translator understand one or two of the questions but whateva haha
Swery seems like such a laid back guy.

May want to try making subtitles in the future. The translator isn't great and I'd rather actually 'hear' SWERY, since he is a generally enthusiastic speaker.

I just finished watching the first season of Twin Peaks, and what a ridiculous cliff hanger ending. It makes me sad that everything I've heard about Season 2 has been ho-hum. Swery didn't just take inspiration from the show, Deadly Premonitions in retrospect feels like an oldschool version of a licensed game in the same vein of licensed games from the NES era.

So how did this Interview go exactly? Because I don't see a translator in the room and the way this is cut it makes it look like they just asked him questions while they smiled and nodded without knowing a single thing he just said.
