Talkin' Bout needs to be a regular feature. The Duke Nukem Forever one was priceless.
 
And I don't think that they can just eliminate the Bioshock name from this, because if it wasn't there would just be all the cynics saying, "yo dude, this is totally just Skyoshock." If you at least associate with the franchise, it's considered acceptable to have a similar game.

Yeah it's totally just a brand name to shift copies. Business decision from corporate ... things with a familiar name on are simply a lower risk product than brand new IPs.

I think the cross over appearances on GB videos from WIll & Alex are great as an introduction to the characters and personalities at Whiskey Media which is what differentiates GB from other faceless video game websites. 
 
I never would have checked out Tested if it wasn't for Will and Norm appearing on the Bombcast earlier on in the year. I do wonder why Comic Vine and Anime Vice's staff never seem to be involved though! I'd be more inclined to check out their output if they perhaps chimed in once in a while! There's enough anime related video game franchises to get an experts opinion from across the office surely?

Everytime Kessler talked it got really uncomfortable, isn't he even abit self aware.

i don't know if you had to the chance to see the dawsons crying face picture, but that is literally how i looked like while i watching this video. suffice to say it made me really sad. so sad that i felt the urge to tell you all about it.
first of all, i remember everyone bitching about bioshock 2 copying the first iteration of the series regarding the setting. ken levine comes up with an idea to expand the bioshock universe, taking the core element of bioshock; the art-deco and steampunk feel (no, it didn't have shit to do with it taking place underwater), and taking the franchise to it's logical, although unwitting, next step.
and what is the major complaint from the community? why did they have to call it bioshock? are they so greedy in their pursuit for gold and other riches that they felt the need to attach the bioshock name to a completely unrelated game? stop it. you're embarassing yourself. that is the dumbest thing i've heard in a long time.
everybody was crying how unoriginal the idea of a bioshock sequel in the same underwater setting was, and now it's suddenly too different to qualify as a sequel? i feel disgusted.

now to the crux of this diatribe; the whiskey media team.
what a stupid ass debate they were having. "as far as i can tell this has nothing to do with the first game"."isn't it an alternate universe just like final fantasy"."that's not distancing, that's making an overt reference...". "so you're saying bioshock is a ken levin brand? no they let 2k marine do the sequel". really? so ken levin and his team cannot ever expand on their own artistic creation because they let 2k marine make their own take on the franchise? even though they comes up with a worthy addition to the franchise? jesus.
as an aside, the whole schtick with making fun of kessler as the intern is not only played out, but all the more redundant due to the fact that he is ten times as funny as the rest of the guys (with the exception of vinny). he is the only guy who makes me laugh out loud, and when i see someone like brad, who might as well be part of the background noise because of his insecure babbling delivered in his monotone, droning voice, making jokes about firing him it makes me clench my fists in anger. they should be kissing his boots and begging him to stay just a little while longer.

I pretty much agree with the guys that the Idea seems neat and I'm excited to see more of it, but the name sounds bad and they should take out the bioshock part.

The one thing they didn't discuss that I thought was interesting was the abundance of American flags in the sky-city place where the trailer took place.  I recently finished Atlas Shrugged after being curious about it for a long while (hated it - preaches to the reader that being an asshole is the only was to contribute to society... but I digress) and Ayn Rand has moments where she rants about how the United States is the only important country in the world cause of it's capitalist economy.  Seeing that the first Bioshock was so inspired by Rand, I suspect that's where the American imagery in the trailer is coming from.  i'm interested to know how it will be a part of the story.

I'm probably the only film geek that made this reference, but I like how they gave their 1912 character the name DeWitt. As in Rose DeWitt Bukater....Titanic..1912. 

Will Smith always wanders over when the camera starts rolling regardless of the conversation.

All the "SkyoShock" jokes were so dumb. The "bio-" prefix has nothing to do with water, it's biology and BioShock explored that with altering genes with plasmids and tonics.

I was prepared to hate Bioshock 2 and really liked it... so I'll give this one a shot.
