I read Shrugged too and got almost exactly the opposite take. If being self-sufficient and self-motivated (when physically able) is being an asshole, count me in. And if contributing more innovation, production, and progress than any other country on earth is capitalism's fault, so be it. I don't look upon it as American Exceptionalism or even American Arrogance, it's just cold, hard, statistical fact.

Im sure when people were making the jokes they weren't thinking of the definitions of the prefixes. It's just a simple play on words.

Not sure why I even read the comments anymore. So many people over-analyzing everything Kessler or Will does or says or being overly critical of them. I bring this upon my self every time I scroll down on one of these videos so I can't really blame anyone else but myself. I should know better by now.

I agree, he seems to try awfully hard to fit in, and the core four just don't give a shit because they've known each other since birth.  I hardly even noticed the Bioshock talk, all the awkward social dynamics were so prominent.

Another great video guys but I do like how the offices are now essentially one long hall way room like thing because it really brings out the dynamics of everyone at whiskey media like Jeff, Will, Vinny, Alex, Brad, Matt and Ryan even though Ryan was not in this video for a reason unknown to me.

OK, having finished the video I somewhat retract that....

Kessler is just too awkward, and EVERYONE knows it, read Jeff's face when he speaks.  His articles are fine, but he shouldn't be speaking or on camera, just not the right personality for it.

They are going the same route with a strong literary reference but surely it isn't Ayn Rand this time (despite the name). I've heard "Against the Day" as one possible inspiration already.

In any case, it seems pretty freaking awesome. And it has a Sky Daddy

Same here. Not just them either, everything. Sadly, as GB gets more popular, more "gametrailers" type people begin posting. Back in 08-early 09, the comments were easier to stomach, but now.

As for Bioshock Infinite, the new setting seems interesting. I even wonder if this sky version will sink underwater and become the Rapture of the first game. Also, I hope they aren't pressured by 2K to add in multiplayer, just so consumers don't feel it's missing features from the "previous" game.

Funny. The BioShock games are fun. Also, Kessler is a good kid. He's not used to being on camera. Go watch early Gamespot stuff. They are some stuttering messes.

The guys seem to be reacting to this the same way they did to the Bioshock 2 announcement, lots of negativity and sarcasm. If you go into anything with an attitude like that before you have even played the game, your opinion will automatically be skewed in that direction. They need to just give it a chance.

Matt Kessler needs to shut the fuck up and never speak again. He's that guy who tries to fit in so hard, that he comes off as completely ridiculous. God, just shut up and film.

Who gives a fuck about the name? So many terrible knee jerk reactions to a CGI trailer. If the game is good, the game will be good. The name is text on a box.

This game will have 5 years between it and the first BioShock. I'm fairly certain Irrational has plenty of new things cooked up for this. Ken Levine has specifically stated that all the assets in Infinite will be original and separate from the first two games. There won't be any big daddies, there's no ocean, and Levine said that everything people know and expect from the BioShock universe will be challenged.

Well, if you'll allow me to make politically charged statements here...

I fully agree that people, when they are able, should be self-sufficient in the world.  I'm not a very sympathetic person really, and can't stand the types of people who will complain all the time over minor quibbles like a headache, or a cramp, or nothing being on TV.

I also don't "fault" capitalism for anything. I'm much in favor of the system, as it's produced countless great things for the world.

Where I fault Rand is the false notion that you are somehow a more accomplished or significant person in the world by disregarding "low ranking" individuals and in a selfish quest of money and power.  Rand would like to portray the character Dagny Taggart as the pinnacle of human accomplishment (or some pretentious BS like that) for being a board member of a railroad company, while in truth, all she ever does in the book is tell people where to build a railroad and crack a whip so they do it.

It's remarkable to me that in all of Atlas Shrugged, the workers beneath Dagny are almost never mentioned or  taken into account.  A national railroad company with lines all across the country must employ hundreds, if not thousands of people to build and maintain the trains and rails, yet these people hardly exist at all in the story.

Rand likes to preach the virtues of selfishness (as one of her books is titled), yet the selfless people are the only people who truly contribute to the value of a society.  To use Atlas Shrugged as an example, the people who labor in the hot sun to build a railroad line across the country and collecting very little pay, while board members receive a disproportionate amount of wealth for drawing a line across a US map and saying "build a rail here", should be seen as selfless individuals. They have, I'd imagine, the most strenuous and demanding work of a railroad company, and receive little compensation for their efforts. Additionally, their work should be viewed as selfless, because the fruits of their labor will benefit the average citizen of the society in which they live. You must remind yourself that without the types of people who build a railroad, the conveniences of everyday life - in this case a fast means of travelling - wouldn't exist.  The people who contribute to the production, innovation, and conveniences of a society aren't the suits in a boardroom who sign documents all day to feel important, they are the builders, the engineers, the maintenance people, who build and keep operational the products of value in the world.

I think Irrational Games is in agreement with me based on the state of the Rapture in the game Bioshock.  The Rapture was built on selfish ideals not unlike the ones Rand preaches about, yet when your character visits it, the inhabitants are insane and killing each other and you for they're own personal gain.

The trailer looks awesome and I'm glad they're going for a new look and feel.  This is probably the most negative video I've seen on the site, and it's all for a CGI TRAILER?!?! Atleast play the game first before you start complaining about all of this stuff. And hey, Bioshock: Infinite is a dumb name, but so are most video game titles. Army of Two, Too Human, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and the list goes on, call of duty: Black Ops, Medal of Honor: Airborne, etc.

I bet Bioshock Infinite is either a spin-off, or a prequel, to the Bioshock games.  That's just my guess, though.

Also, Matt was a little annoying as he tried to talk to the group, while filming the conversation.  Other than that, nice video.

Agreed, I wish they talked more about the setting and all the possibilities it brings and what a stark contrast it is to Rapture. Instead they just talk about how Ken Levine went back on his word. Personally I don't think Ken Levine is a household name among gamers like Kojima or Cliffy B, so they have to get recognition somehow. And as I stated before, if it looks like Bioshock, plays like Bioshock, sounds like Bioshock, just call it Bioshock. It's worth the sales more than trying to gain street cred among "too good for sequel" gamers.

And yes, plenty of names sound stupid until they've been around long enough. Wii anybody?
