"Cutest thing ever" is a pretty bold statement. Especially when the trailer opens with "From the makers of LittleBigPlanet" - aka the creators of Sackboy.

I'm not sure this is particularly good marketing line for the Vita.

"Greatness Awaits" sounds more like something they should be using internally because most customers seem to have been awaiting greatness for some time now.

@professoress:

As an owner of a lauch-day Vita, I've been experiencing greatness for a while.

There was that dark middle chapter know as eight months after launch, but, here we are. It's always been a fantastic system. At $199 and with the current and coming library, it's very much worth your time and money.

PS Vita: "We know you've owned one since the end of 2011, but trust us, greatness is right around the corner at the end of 2013."

I tried thinking of gameplay ideas when I first read about the game and I posted on a forum that I thought it'd be cool if you can hold a piece of paper close to the vita, tear the paper apart and have the vita recognize the sound that it makes and then tie that to some kind of gameplay mechanic. How cool would it be to watch the character cringe when ripping the paper apart....

Yeah, at least the most exciting games covered during the conference were Vita titles. I could even see getting Borderlands 2 on the thing, since I remain convinced FPSes would work pretty well on it if someone competent enough gave it a try. We're also getting the space sim Starlight Inception on it pretty soon, which I hope will turn out well.

@internetdetective: More like $240. With one year of PlayStation Plus, so more than a few free games there. But I see your point.

This seems like one of those games that put a stupid grin on your face the entire time.

That Vita is looking better and better

Small gripe, but does the game have a way to mimic the actual user's finger (like through the camera)? It'd seem weird to have mechanics focused so heavily on immersion and then always have the finger be a white guy's finger.

I feel like Nintendo could REALLY use mediamolecule coming across and making a game for the Wii U. They seem exceptionally good at finding fun ways to use different control inputs, and the Wii U controller DESPERATELY needs something useful to be made for it.

@dark_lord_spam: I demand a skin tone option in the 'options' menu for enhanced immersion for the non-Caucasian Vita owners.

And a nail-length option for nail biters.

This thing is getting screwed on the release date, though. Right around Batman and Assassin's Creed, and right before next-gen consoles. I feel like this will end up as one of those games that everyone waits 5 or 6 months on picking up
