I got boxed PC copies of this and VII. I don't have DVD drive anymore so I might get this when the price drops or something. I remember it was pretty fun game overall.

Alright, Patrick is allowed to say that if he plays through Final Fantasy VIII again, draws Fire from random encounters for like 2 hours straight and then steamrolls through the rest of the game. Also there's some sort of love story and triple triad. I dunno.

I like that you can break the hell out of the systems in 8, but that in no way makes it the best Final Fantasy. According to the Internet at large, all Final Fantasies suck, soooooooooooooooooooo...

Lets be honest here - Once Final Fantasy hit the PS1 it was garbage regardless of the number.

8 is a fascinatingly terrible game. I've never seen such a broken RPG combat system.

Goddamnit, that thumb nail when it was small looked just like it was from Final Fantasy 9 and I got super excited for a minute!! I really hope they can bring IX to steam someday!

This was the first FF game I played so I'm a bit nostalgic towards it.

VIII was my favourite one, mainly just for the card game.

I'm on board with this. At the very least, no one can deny that FF8 had the best minigame in the series in Triple Triad.

I clicked on the link on my RSS saying "It better be IX, but they never ported that. Just VII and VIII ... So ..."

Out of the three VIII is my favourite, but I have to say IX is a better game.

I have spend hundreds of hours in FFVIII on PSX and PC but damn it @patrickklepek, it's not the best FF or PSX FF.

Also it seems that, just like with FFVII, they screwed up the music again. Which is truly sad because FFVIII's soundtrack is AMAZING.

VIII was by far my least favorite of the PS1 FF's. Boring story coupled with an awful leveling system. Also, I dunno if this was announced a while ago or something, but this seems to have just come out of complete nowhere. I might pick it up if it's not a terrible version.

Even the best PS1 Final Fantasy (For the record I think it's 9, since I'm not allowed to pick tactics.) is still like the sixth or seventh best PS1 rpg.
